I visited one of my favorite link today, www.askmen.com, and discovered that their poll for the “99 Most Desirable Women” of 2005 is published. I remembered voting for this somewhere in November last year. So, here’s my pick of the bunch - the women who fascinate me. Maybe some form of indication of my soulmate? Hahahaha!Â
Here are my 13 favorite women of 2005 (in counting down order) & their 2006 forecast (from Askmen.com):
13) Nicole Kidman
2006 is looking to be a very busy year for Kidman. The Visiting, a sci-fi thriller, teams the actress with the new James Bond, Daniel Craig, while Fur casts Kidman as famed suicidal photographer Diane Arbus. For the first time in her career, Kidman will be lending her voice to an animated film with a role in Happy Feet.
12) Diane Lane
2006, promises to be a very busy time for Diane, with three films scheduled for release. Truth, Justice, and the American Way is the highly anticipated true-life story of ‘50s Superman actor George Reeves.
11) Kylie Minogue
Kylie looks to continue her recovery with some much-needed rest in Paris and the south of France before re-embarking on her Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour in late 2006. The tiny blonde diva (she’s only 5’1â€) has said the tour will become an international “thank you†to all her fans for their encouragement and support during her battle with cancer.
10) Catherine Zeta Jones
With her kids now old enough to be left in the hands of the best nannies money can buy, Catherine is slated for a busy 2006. Aside from honoring her bizarre contract with T-Mobile, look for this beautiful, raspy-voiced cougar to star in two movies, including Coming Out, a movie about a gay Welsh rugby coach.
9) Naomi Watts
In the coming year, Naomi Watts is set to star alongside Edward Norton in The Painted Veil, adapted from the W. Somerset Maugham novel. It may not be the next summer blockbuster, but it’s the kind of quality work that Watts at last has the luxury of pursuing, and she’ll certainly have greater opportunity to show off her skills as time goes by.
Shania Twain
Shania has recently put the finishing touches on her next studio album, and has plans to bless us with another world tour to support it. Say what you will about her music, watching a sweaty Shania Twain dance around on stage in tight outfits is worth the price of admission alone.
7) Charlize Theron
Expect to see plenty of the well-dressed Charlize at this year’s awards ceremonies. The leggy thespian was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in North Country and a similar nod could very well follow from the Academy. Charlize will also be appearing on the big screen in The Ice at the Bottom of the World and The Brazilian Job, a movie that, despite its name, sadly has nothing to do with Brazilian waxing.
6) Bridget Moynahan
Moynahan is already set to appear in two 2006 releases. First up is the mystery-thriller Unknown, followed by Prey, a horror-thriller set in Africa. But so far, it doesn’t look like there’s a breakout role in Bridget Moynahan’s near future that will make hers a household name.
5) Angelina Jolie
Get ready for even more Angelina in 2006, starting with her starring role in The Good Shepherd, a CIA thriller. The award-winning actress will also lend her voice to the epic Beowulf, due out in theaters in 2007.
4) Roselyn Sanchez
2006 promises to be another breakthrough year for Roselyn, as she will star in three films. Look for her in the comedy Venus & Vegas, as well as the dramas Yellow and The Perfect Sleep.
3) Alyssa Milano
It looks like 2006 will be another good year for Alyssa Milano. After going from child star to soft-core queen, Alyssa’s career has stabilized with her long run on Charmed. As long as she can get regular exposure as a TV star, Alyssa Milano will stay, well, charmed.
2) Eva Longoria
Look for Eva to return to the big screen again this year in The Sentinel, a dark thriller costarring Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland. She’ll also appear with Christian Bale and Freddy Rodriguez in Harsh Times, and lend her sultry voice to the animated comedy Foodfight!, alongside noted horndog Charlie Sheen and the horndog-inspiring Hilary Duff.
1) Kate Beckinsale
The British beauty will reprise her role as vampire warrior Selene in Underworld: Evolution, the sequel to the 2003 hit. Kate will also show her softer side as she stars alongside Adam Sandler and Christopher Walken in the big-budget comedy Click.
Hope this gives you a revelation of my predilections. Haha!
