Kuantan Weekender Retreat

With the “long” weekend hovering, I mulled over plans on how to snaffle the opportunity for a quick getaway, just like the other 5 million people in the Klang Valley. I recalled calling a number of Cherating hotels 2 weeks ago to book for a couple of nights over there, but was informed that it was fully reserved. Subsequently, I triggered plan B, lodging at a friend’s place in Kuantan. The last time I stucked around Kuantan was last Hari Raya. I spent time with my friend’s family and relatives and it was reposeful. It’s much more comfortable when more than half of the country’s population celebrate a festival, as it leaves you with a “fistful” of guests, not an battalion like I annually face-off during my X’mas open house.Â
Why Kuantan? I have my reasons.
I’ve grown to love Kuantan and savor the laidback life over there. You really do get to stop and smell the roses. Obviously, there is a demarcation to being mellowed, though it’s unquestionably therapeutic to the body and soul. I’m hoping to watch Poseidon, Over the Hedge and Da Vinci next week – a bumper movie week that I’m really looking forward to.
Well, enjoy the long weekend and I’ll see ya when I see ya!
Always,
MeÂ
P/S: I’ll be flying off to Hong Kong for business next week for a couple of days.
