Argentina overall played the better game and bounded Germany from playing theirs. Ballack had an off day while Schweinsteiger is having a poor tournament. Argentinians had the better individuals, but they lacked the fervency to see the Germans off.
When it came down to penalties, my old friend, whom I rarely keep in touch these days, who supports Germany like I do, reminded me that when it comes to penalties, the Germans are technically better. I have to agree. I can’t recall when was the last time a German player missed a penalty. 4 superior penalties to terminate Argentina.
Hmmm, Germany play Italy in the semi-finals. It should be a good game. The Italians won’t trammel Germany as much as Argentina did last night, surely. Another week to go before the World Cup comes to an end. I admit the ref was dodgy at times, but I don’t think his calls would’ve swung the result to the Argies. Ballack should’ve got a yellow card for that dive against Ayala. That I agree. Nevertheless, the Deutschland adventure continues!

daniel: The Argentinians played well and it was just luck was not on their side. The last penalty shot, you can see Lehmann was jumping at the goalpost…. and I think that made the Argie nervous. Even Oliver Kahn… Jens’ rival, came and wished him good luck. Thats a very beautiful moment… at this stage of the tournament.

Well done dude, your team beat mine.
And you were right I knew if Argentina did not score in extra time they would lose on penalties.
But looking at the match, both teams didnt deserve to lose.
Hopefully England DOES NOT win the world cup..that would be the end of us !

metria Germany vs Italy is gonna be a cracker too!
lord apprentice No problem, I know how difficult my ramblings can be for someone like you to comprehend…hahahahaha…just kidding! Enjoy!
endroo g Yes, Kahn’s pat on Lehmann was a nice touch indeed. Man, my head’s still reeling from the aftereffects of Jack Daniel’s last night celebrating England’s exit.
lex It was a super game, let’s hope the same can be said for the remaining matches…*fingers crossed*
larawannabe Eye candy indeed. Would’ve not been the case had England continued their dodgy World Cup outing…so the worst is over! Hahaha!
headliner It was a good game, worthy of a final. But it was not meant to be. Italy comes knockin - another tough game for Germany awaits…
