World Cup Final Preview + Retrospect

The world cup babes’ days are numbered. With just a few days remaining, all the bombilation and hurly burly of the celebration of beauty will evanesce away, bringing my world cup babes gallivanting adventure to an end. I will still be blogging as usual, but without the motivating images scoured during the World Cup.

So, this is it, a final scrutiny of the World Cup. A titanic final awaits between Italy and France. No place for the host country Germany (it’s alright by me, I’m still proud of them), and certainly no place for a cocky England team (thank God!). I don’t believe McClaren is the right man for the job, because he was after all, Eriksson’s handjob man. So all he will do is to continue where Mr Magoo left off, much to the delight of the world.

As for Portugal, they are an embarrassment. The behaviour of their players, diving again and again, oinking everytime they were touched was dismaying. They are swindlers. Their bench dissent whenever their players went down, so they made complete patsies of themselves. They deserved to get beaten.

This has got to be THE most entertaining World Cup in recent times. Germany played the perfect host. The only blot is the diving craze that has seeped into the game. Why? Well, obviously, the referees were instructed to be harsh against fouls, resulting in players acting like Italians/Christiano Ronaldo to get their opponents booked. A disgrace. Even Michael Ballack resorted to that twice at least, which is disappointing given his stature.

When I was at the pub to revel in England’s downfall at the hands of the belly-flopping Portuguese, the in-house DJ commented, “I bet all Liverpool fans are England supporters.” Everyone hollered in agreement. And I chuckled. Deep down inside, they have a hardon for Steven Gerrard. Hahahahaha! When Gerrard walked over to take the penalty, the whole pub chanted in unison, “Gerrard, Gerrard, Gerrard, Gerrard…”. When he missed, I turned to them, stood up on my chair, and shouted, “Gerrard, Gerrard, Gerrard, Gerrard!”. That was the best feeling in the whole world. It’s not that I detest the England team, I just can’t stand the bloody arrogant pinheads, just like how I can’t stand Liverpool fans. All the drama about langsynes and the hoo-hah. Don’t get me wrong, I also dislike Chelski and Manure, but that’s purely for sporting reasons.

Can Zidane deliver or will the scandalous Italians lift the cup? I would love to see Juventus, AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina get relegated after this. But, I don’t think that might happen. The mafias may have already bribed the prosecutor. I can foresee a bidding war for the likes of Buffon, Cannavaro, Nesta, Gattuso etc. I would love to see Gattuso and Buffon at Arsenal.

Like I have previously dredged up, this game is a 50-50. Neither team will have the edge. The last time these 2 met, we had a corking game. The French won in extratime in Euro 2000, which I was extremely felicitous. I was supporting the French back then, and will continue to do the same this weekend. But, in the end, it doesn’t really matter who wins it as long that it’s a topnotch game. This noteworthy world cup needs a befitting end.
