Lady In The Water Should’ve Stayed There!

First of all, before I delve into my spider appetences, let me just state that M Shyamalan has lost the plot. It’s been a downward spiral for the bloke since hitting jackpot with THE SIXTH SENSE. His latest flick, LADY IN THE WATER, only reasserts that he’s gone bonkers! I watched the movie @ Cathay last night (9:45pm) and was desperately hoping that there will be a twist to show what a flawed genius this fella is. He proved me otherwise – there is no twist! It’s a jaw-dropping calamity. Shyamalan casts himself as a writer whose ideas will inspire a future leader who will save the world?! WTF?! The most garbled movie I have ever seen, so shambolic that I rate it a 1/10. That’s it then – no more misfiring Shyamalan for me!If you’re hoping for blockbuster movies in 2006, don’t hold your breathe because it looks like we’re heading into a dearth period until next year. And please, no way is the new James Bond ever a blockbuster!
I’ll just have to appease my soul waiting for SPIDERMAN 3 next May 2007. Apparently the hoi polloi of SONY has formally embarked on a blog about Spiderman 3, where we could eke out the latest scoop on the webbed one.

i cant believe movies like these can still make it to the big screens. i mean c’mon, it’s shyamalan, you’d expect some level of intelligence in it. absolutely zilch.
it was a dead bore. reminded me of movies that USED to entertain me when i was a kid.

hmm, the story itself is actually very interesting … but they way it got delivered this time around was just not as good as his previous ones …
every one of his movies has got a knee-jerk plot twist towards the end … but Lady in the Water is kinda weird … but you do have to admit the bloody creature gave you one shit of a scare rite … it did to me …
haha i felt unbreakable was not that good … the rest is marvelous … sixth sense, village …

sha Ahhh…I see, so you like webby men…LOL
nyx The dude took us for a ride. At least he could’ve saved the film by appearing after the credits saying “nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh!”
wyejon He’s doing an Alfred Hitchcock, and now is taking it way too far. He’s toast!
ang gu gu We shall eagerly wait…
bengster Good luck. Make sure you get intoxicated before you watch it, so you might give it a higher rating than I did. Haha!
hongkiat You should pay me the money instead to teach you how to bowl. LOL
endroo g Da Vinci Code? Not to worry, you didn’t miss a thing.
josh Well I beg to differ – I really enjoyed SIXTH SENSE.
che-cheh Yes, please do skip. Spare your boodle. And you’re welcome.
earl-ku The storyline was awkwardly transfixing, but I think that’s chiefly down to us anticipating Shyamalan’s signatory TWIST. Didn’t enjoy The Village – thought it was a good concept, it was just too ho-hum…

I thought the story was pretty straightforward and wasn’t it meant that way? Lady in the Water meant to be fairy tale kinda thing.. I don’t know if it worked for u but it did quite a bit for me. I wasn’t really expecting anything IN-MY-FACE twist thing lah. But the begining was a turn off rite? It could have been a good comedy scene rite at the begining. And Mr. Night sure got some balls to cast himself OVER and OVER again!

lex It may have captivated me if I was a 7-year old. The storyline is nowhere near as straightforward – it was incoherent!
Stinker of the year!
