Ness Have heard of SAW but haven't watched it.

Sha I kinda enjoyed "THE OTHERS". But I don't think it counts as a horror flick. :-P

Jackie Glad you share the same thought. :-D Thanks for the valuable input.

Without a doubt: The Exorcist. All else is rubbish.

I'm a big fan of horror, unfortunately horror movies are anything but. So ended up reading, unforunately Stephen King can be incosistent at times, and nothing recent from him is worth mention.

(Sixth Sense is worth a mention though. Horror movie makers need to have a little faith in the audiences imagination and play on their pysche rather than the obvious and laughable ghouls jumping out of dark spaces)

I personally prefer Asian horror flicks. More thrills :)

But if I really have to choose, does "The Others" count as a horror movie? :)

Wombat I remembered waking up in the middle of the night when I was 5 and caught Evil Dead (my late dad was watching), and immediately fell sick. Still, it didn't stop me. :-)

I have no love for horror movies because when I was 4 years old, my parents brought me to see one (that should be circa 1967) and I got scared so much that it messed up my psyche. Today I just can't stand them. Hey, I can't even stand the Korean horror flicks' trailers on Astro.

But I did see some since, often with eyes half closed, and Salem's Lot is a baddddd one.

On the other hand, I have developed a cult liking for Freddie Krueger on Noghtmare On Elm Street series. It happened during my uni years in Australia. We watch all the NOES movies, and it is the only horror movie we actually cheered for Freddie whenever he appears. :-)

Dee Yes, that part when the the dude was sucked into the bed freaked me out too! :-)

Lucifer Greetings horny one. Does this mean I have a VIP pass to a lifetime party in hell? :-P I agree - the rotating head cum levitation had my family jewels do a Houdini! LOL

unkaleong Hmmm...somehow I tend to mix up Poltergeist with Amityville, but am not gonna re-watch. I screwed that up with Evil Dead already. :-D

Lizzam Errr, Silent Hill? Okay, will try to get my hands on it. Suspenseful movies are in abundance these days, but they lack spine-chilling scenes where you don't look at the demon and laugh. :-D

Hmm....I hate to say this but since you asked for a favourite movie I'd have to say Nightmare on Elm Street (t'was never my favourite), coz at the time I nearly pee-ed in my pants watching it. I couldn't sleep for a month, thinking I was gonna get sucked in and spit out in chunks by my bed.

Ever since then, I never a fan of horror movies but my kiasu-ness gets the better of me everytime so I still watch 'em. :D

Che-Cheh Not to worry, these days, horror films are comedies, like Star Wars. LOL

meekiee Hmmm...minumlah Guinness Stout, after that sure kao tim. :-D

Izad Tell me about it. I even watched An American Werewolf in London, and only realized that the part between the friends took place in a porn cinema. What the? LOL

Mo The Exorcist is a classic. Well, Sixth Sense wasn't horrific in the true sense of the word, but it was enjoyable. We see dead people everyday, don't we Mo? ;-)

Yup.... i have rewatched every scary movie that I have watched in the 80s... and could not help but snigger and ridicule the rest. The only movie that stood its ground was The Exocist. So far nothing has come close.... except..

.... you might laugh when i say this... for me, the Sixth Sense came close... not because of its suspence triller scenes ...but the thought of seeing dead people (Dan' i think you know what i mean)

Evil Dead scared the bejesus out of me when I first watched it in the early 80s. And I bought the DVD too a few months ago (did you get the double-sided disc?) and I had your exact same reaction. I don't know how it got from real scary to really (unintentionally) hilarious. Dude, you gotta notice the obvious cut-and-paste fullmoon shot in one of the scenes. How the hell did they get away with that is beyond me. LMAO.
