kinda like the duet he did with olivia d’abo, kan?

far too slow for my personal liking. how can you sing this song without throwing you arms in the air and shout out, “OOOOOH, we’re halfway othere – OOOOOHHHH, livin on a prayer!”…?

philters Olivia D’abo’s voice is kinda irritating. :-P Well, I guess it depends on when does one listen to this.

I heard it, I agree with Jemima it is more Soulful and I like the instruments in the background. But, when you associate intense surge of energy with the original and you hear this, the new version does not effect you positively at first.

Dan I have to ask, do you know why they did the slow version of it? And called it a different name? What is the point?

Rudy Glad you asked. :-P Well, they were the first rock artists to introduce UNPLUGGED when they performed on MTV Music Awards in 1989 – “Livin on a Prayer” & “Wanted Dead or Alive”. It was such a hit that MTV started the UNPLUGGED series.

So, I suppose that this slow version is a testament to THAT historic moment. The name’s the same, it’s still “Livin on a Prayer”, but as not to confuse with the original, they added the year. ;-)

Good golly gosh do BJ look old and crappy or what. They have now entered the pantheon of age old rockers and the Rolling Stones welcome to the club.

    Good grief…..

some good new bands – Killers, Snow Patrol, My Chemical Romance and Wolfmother.

Mr D It goes to show that age catches up to EVERYONE, except Goldie Hawn and her botox adventures! LOL. Yes, I like The Killers, and I also like Hinder and Breaking Benjamin too. :-D
