After that duet with Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” reached the pinnacle of the US country charts, and having won a Grammy, Bon Jovi ropes in LeAnn Rimes for a duet on their upcoming album, Lost Highway.

Bon Jovi ft Leann Rimes - Stranger

Bon Jovi ft LeAnn Rimes - Stranger

It might be hard to be lovers, but it’s harder to be friends
Baby pull down the covers, it’s time you let me in
Maybe light a couple candles, I’ll just go ahead and lock the door
If you just talk to me baby, til we ain’t strangers anymore

Lay your head on my pillow, I sit beside you on the bed
Don’t you think it’s time we say some things we haven’t said
Ain’t too late to get back to that place
Back to the way we thought it was before
Why don’t you look at me here, til we ain’t strangers anymore

Sometimes it’s hard to love me, sometimes it’s hard to love you too
I know it’s hard believin, that love can pull us through
It would be so easy, to live your life with one foot out the door
Just hold me baby, til we ain’t strangers anymore

it’s a little coutry, but the instrument is a lot coutry,
well,it’s kinda meaningless to talk about country or not country, just another good Jovi album, that’s ok!
I’m glad you put these songs here, they are all so beautifull!
    Thank You !

    [Reply]

  17. Jersey Dreamer Yes, there is a country influence to it, but I don’t mind at all as my love for country music has been steadily growing since the early 2000’s. :-) You’re welcome…

  18. This one brought a tear to my eye; guess it touched a nerve. But that’s usually what happens with a new album. There’s always something that relates to me personally.

    Thanks so much!

  19. Tiffani You’re welcome. That’s what Bon Jovi means to all of us, we can relate to most of their songs. :-)

  22. Well, even if it doesn’t, it’s not gonna change my admiration for Bon Jovi. ———- *awwwwwww now thats what i call a real fan

    [Reply]

  23. sara :-P Yes, I’ve been with this band since 1990, through the good times and through the bad, I’ve listened to their music. :-D

    [Reply]

  24. since 1990..wow! ok i have 2 make a confession im soo ashamed to admit that i… i used to hate bon jovi like reallly hate them it wasnt their music it was just that they were always on tv, i would b waiting for another song and they would come on it was annoying..then i saw them on american idol and fell in love with them in less than a week!!! its not normal lsnin to songs they made in the past 20 yrs for 7 hrs straight but i did.. lool ok so now thats cleared im gonna go lsn to them without feelin guilty!!..anymore

  25. what ican i say, another hit from Bon Jovi!

i love this song, the lyrics and the way jon and leann’s voices balance each others out. its just beautiful , love it!

    [Reply]

  26. sara No problem. I’m glad you’ve converted now. ;-)

Lee R Agreed - superb combination between Bon Jovi and Le Ann Rimes. :-D

    [Reply]

  27. Regarding what Sara said: “its not normal to listen to songs they made in the past 20 yrs for 7 hrs straight but i did..” Well I also have a confession to make. I must have been hiding under a rock all these years because I just discovered Bon Jovi about a month ago. Of course I knew all of their big hits, but never listened to an entire album. What a gold mine I found! Since then I’ve been spending countless hours on youtube because I’m determined to watch every video and/or interview with them. Their music has changed my life for the better!!! Lost Highway is going to be terrific from what I’ve hard of it so far. Thank you for sharing this song.

    [Reply]

  28. Bebereader You’re welcome. ;-) Well, I became a fan since BLAZE OF GLORY, and remember putting in countless of hours, having SLIPPERY, NEW JERSEY, BLAZE on a permanent rewind. Then came KEEP THE FAITH, and I bought their first 2 albums too. You won’t regret owning all of their albums, barring the first 2… :-D

    [Reply]

  29. Thanks for replying, Gallivanter. Being a new fan, I guess I’m fan number 100,000,001! It’s amazing how Bon Jovi keeps re-inventing themselves, and how Lost Journey has a fresh feel. Usually when you buy a new CD, you buy it for two or three songs, but I’m liking almost ALL the songs I’ve heard so far from LH. Oh I know I won’t regret owning any Bon Jovi CDs that I’ve bought, which has been three so far…Crush, HAND and Crossrads. I intend to have them all! Is this a forum for BJ fans?

    [Reply]

  30. hi! im curious r u also a fan of jon bon jovi’s acting??have u seen his movies??

    [Reply]

  31. Bebereader Well, it’s the case for most of Bon Jovi’s albums, you could easily relate to at least half a dozen of songs on each album. :-) LOL, it’s not BJ forum, I’m doing a non-charity PR to spread Bon Jovi music - good music needs to be shared. :-)

sara Yeah, I’ve seen all of his movies actually. ;-) His best movies were “The Leading Man”, “Little City” & “No Looking Back”. Kickass indie flicks. :-D

    [Reply]

  32. im gonna trust u and make sure i see those movies thx :P

    [Reply]

  33. sara Yes, watch these flicks - Jon’s acting was commendable… :-)

    [Reply]

  34. Great job on spreading BJ’s new music. It worked because somehow I made it here without much effort. Speaking of JBJ’s movies, I’ve only seen “Moonlight & Valentino” and loved it! I have “The Leading Man” on order from Blockbuster. But thanks for recommending the others. I’ll add them to my list.

    [Reply]

  35. Bebereader The movies that I recommended, he acted much better than “Moonlight & Valentino”. :-)

    [Reply]

  36. WOW! And I was crazy about his acting in M&V! Thanks for the tip!

    [Reply]

  37. Bebereader Yeah, he’s so good until you don’t realize it’s Jon Bon Jovi. :-)

    [Reply]

  38. I just moved those two movies to the top of my list from Blockbuster. Thanks again!

    [Reply]

  39. Bebereader No problem. ;-)

    [Reply]

  40. i heard that they have a book called bon jovi:anthology and they’ve got the lyrics and the guitar chords of their famous songs my question is are the guitar chords for an acoustic guitar or an electric one???

    [Reply]

  41. sara Hmmm, it states songbook for voice, piano and guitar (chords only), so I’m guessing it’s acoustic, else it’ll be in tabs.

    [Reply]

  42. ok thx!!!!!!

    [Reply]

  43. Grrrr. “No Looking Back” is not on their master list, according to Blockbuster. Wonder why, since all the others are on the list.

    [Reply]

  44. sara No worries. ;-)

Bebereader It’s not? Nvm, you can always get it at Amazon. :-)

    And I’ve converted too…

    Now I`m 17 years old,but when i was 10,i think that i hated bon jovi…

Maybe because my little brother liked it,so…he like,i dislike…

That was in the 2000,with crush…

    But 3 years back,i started listening crush…

And the first bon jovi´s song (no famous,no single) that i liked was save the world…

and now, every time i hear that song,i remember my beggining with bonjo =P

    that was all…i´m free…

    anxious for listen demos

    everyday cheking the news

    everytime learning more and more…

    And that´s bon jovi,a LIFESTYLE… =P

    Let´s join to the cowboy…

  49. Thanks so much, Tincho. Listening to it now. I still like Stranger the best, but they are all incredible.

  50. My sixteen year old daughter and I have completely different taste in music. Even though we both like rock, I like classic and she likes modern. Her rule is that if I like it, she doesn’t. I thought the exception would be with Bon Jovi since I never met anyone who doesn’t like them. I haven’t given up hope yet.

    [Reply]

  51. i heard summertime… i really like it!! even though i have issues with that season considering the temperature here :P

    [Reply]

  52. tincho sambora LOL. I’m glad you converted too. :-) Makes my effort to promote Bon Jovi to the world worthwhile. :-) I’m glad to see that Bon Jovi appeals to a wide age gap.

Bebereader Yes, this album kicks ass! My favorite 3 are THE LAST NIGHT, ANY OTHER DAY & WHOLE LOT OF LEAVING. :-D It’s natural for kids to rebel, give them time…and they’ll be kicking themselves later for not listening to you. :-D

sara Lots of great tracks in this album. I’m only days away from buying it. OLE! :-P

    [Reply]

  53. Gallivaner…You’re right about kids rebelling and all. But six of my daughter’s friends are lined up to go with me to the next Bon Jovi concert when they’re in the NY area. My daughter insists she won’t go; she’s tough act. But I have a funny feeling that at the last minute Miss Toughie will cave. I mean, how can one not go!!! It’s Bon Jovi!!!!

And yes,you are right…Everybody`s must buy it original…

  57. Gallivaner: I already caught my daughter sneaking a peek at the screen while I was watching the Crush Tour on DVD. It was at the end, where the band is exhausted after the show and the limos are waiting for them, fireworks are going off. Awesome scene. If any of you haven’t seen the DVD, I highly recommend it.

    [Reply]

  58. tincho sambora No problem, your intentions are good. :-)

Bebereader LOL. Inevitability. ;-) Yes, I’ve already watched that DVD - just didn’t like how it was shot. Have you seen the 1995 award-winning LIVE IN WEMBLEY gig? :-)

    [Reply]

  59. Gallivanter: Nooooo. That’s my next project…to get the Live in Wembley DVD! Did you say ‘award-winning’? You mean it’s better than the Crush DVD?!!! Must go to amazon…right now…LOL Thanks!

    [Reply]

  60. Bebereader Yes, go get it. :-) They had so much energy and got the crowd rocking. This concert was recorded sometime after they rocked Malaysia! ;-)

    [Reply]

  61. I just ordered the “Live from London (1995)” DVD from Amazon. Should be here in about a week. More good news! There’s a week of Bon Jovi shows in October at the new Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. That’s about one hour from where I live. Close enough! Tickets go on sale tomorrow. I’m gathering people to go with me. So far it’s four; trying to get my daughter to come, too. Quesion: What’s the audience age mix? I would imagine at this point that it’s all ages. Thanks for your help.

    [Reply]

  62. Bebereader Wow, to say that I’m envious is an understatement. I’m really hoping Bon Jovi tours this side of the world again. As for the audience mix, yes, expect a smorgasbord. :-)

    [Reply]

  63. Gallivanter I’m so excited I can’t think of anything else! Can you tell? hehe Reading back all my comments on here I sound like a nut!! But this my first Bon Jovi concert…ever! There are seven of us going, INCLUDING MY DAUGHTER! But she insists that she will bring her IPod with her to play during the show. She’s relentless! Funny how she already knows all the lyrics to MY favorite Bon Jovi songs! Wish me luck; I have to call for tickets tomorrow.

    [Reply]

  64. Bebereader She’s gonna be a convert. It’s destiny. :-) I’ve only been to ONE Bon Jovi concert, and am yearning for more!

    [Reply]

  65. I know the feeling…well sorta, I’m yearing for just one! Where are you located? From watching almost every clip on youtube, I see that they’ve been everywhere, more than once! Speaking of youtube, I just found a clip of Jon singing a slow dynamite version of “It’s My Life”. I could swear that he was crying at the end; it was so emotional. Has anyone seen it? If not, could I post a link here?

    [Reply]

  66. Bebereader I’m in Malaysia, the country between Singapore and Thailand. :-D Well, they toured Asia only once, apart from regular stops in Japan and Australia. Yes, I’ve seen that slow version, and yes, it was a tear. :-)

    [Reply]

  67. hi! i’ve never seen the slow version of its my life so can she post the link plzz..

  70. Of course I love this song! But I don’t think it’s as good as “Who Says You Can’t Go Home”, it is still a great song to hear and think about. Again, Richie’s solo was stellar.

    [Reply]

  71. sara :-)

Tyson Don’t think this song could compared to “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” though, you could compare it to “I Love This Town”. :-)

    [Reply]

  72. Gallivanter: Just wanted to thank you for your tip to get the “Live in London” 1995 Bon Jovi DVD. It arrived today and I couldn’t open it fast enough. It’s truly a work of art; each song is a masterpiece. The band worked extremely hard and really enjoyed themselves every step of the way. When Jon sang “Always”, I was speechless! And “Wanted Dead or Alive” was absolutely magnificent! I can’t get enough of these guys. I am making up for lost time; learning all of their music at once. And what a great time it is!

    [Reply]

  73. Bebereader You’re welcome. That was one of their best, really energetic stuff, and that concert was after they rocked Malaysia, so we witnessed something similar too. :-)

    [Reply]

  74. You sure did!!! I just received my free digital download of “Lost Highway” as part of the concert ticket package I purchased. It’s playing now and I’m loving it. Bon Jovi performed outdoors live on The Today Show/NBC this morning because the CD finally dropped today here in the U.S. Happy to say that the whole band was there, including Richie who was looking good! Matt Lauer addressed Richie’s recent problems and the crowd was so supportive. Matt Lauer said that more people came out for this morning’s show than for any other outdoor morning concert they’ve ever had. Now that’s saying something!

    [Reply]

  75. Bebereader That’s awesome. So I take it that you bought the CD already? :-)

    [Reply]

  76. They bundled it in the concert ticket package I bought. My tickets were about ten dollars more than they would have been had the download not been included. Did that make sense? I downloaded the CD from the ITunes code that was given to me by email after purchasing the tickets online. The only downside is that I don’t get the cover and and any artwork included. The CD’s awesome…awesome! Do I sound like a crazed new fan? LOL Because I am! haha

    [Reply]

  77. Bebereader Yes, are there any additional tracks on the CD? One of the readers mentioned “Walk Like a Man”…

    [Reply]

  78. No additional tracks. Just the original 12.

    [Reply]

  79. Bebereader I just heard “Walk Like a Man” and it’s good, should’ve been on the album. Check ur e-mail. :-)

Great to see the boys sticking together and producing awesome music.

  83. hi.. i want to ask a question..i recently read on a website that the reason why bon jovi made it #1 on the billboard 200 is because to buy the tickets of their concerts u have to buy the cd too they come together so fans were practically forced to buy the cd but i dont think so.. i mean bounce and have a nice day came at #2 without the cd and tickets coming together idea and lost highway isnt that bad not to mention the country fans they made with who says you cant go home what do u think????

    [Reply]

  84. Sara: It’s not true. I bought tickets for that show and we had a choice of either buying tickets with Lost Highway, or waiting a few days and buying tickets without the CD. And only four tickets were allowed per credit card for the ones that came with Lost Highway. So we were not forced to buy the CD…at all.

  89. One can never go wrong with Bon Jovi. I just really enjoy his music.. I remember singing with Syura to Livin’ On a Prayer.. I was 4!! My parents’ influence!

I remembered my elder brother and his friend going to KL that time for the concert.. they were in form 5 I think.. and drove my parents mad..

Plus, he gets hotter as he gets older.. so that doesn’t hurt! :D
