After that duet with Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” reached the pinnacle of the US country charts, and having won a Grammy, Bon Jovi ropes in LeAnn Rimes for a duet on their upcoming album, Lost Highway.

Bon Jovi ft LeAnn Rimes – Stranger
It might be hard to be lovers, but it’s harder to be friends
Baby pull down the covers, it’s time you let me in
Maybe light a couple candles, I’ll just go ahead and lock the door
If you just talk to me baby, til we ain’t strangers anymore
Lay your head on my pillow, I sit beside you on the bed
Don’t you think it’s time we say some things we haven’t said
Ain’t too late to get back to that place
Back to the way we thought it was before
Why don’t you look at me here, til we ain’t strangers anymore
Sometimes it’s hard to love me, sometimes it’s hard to love you too
I know it’s hard believin, that love can pull us through
It would be so easy, to live your life with one foot out the door
Just hold me baby, til we ain’t strangers anymore

My sixteen year old daughter and I have completely different taste in music. Even though we both like rock, I like classic and she likes modern. Her rule is that if I like it, she doesn’t. I thought the exception would be with Bon Jovi since I never met anyone who doesn’t like them. I haven’t given up hope yet.

tincho sambora LOL. I’m glad you converted too.
Makes my effort to promote Bon Jovi to the world worthwhile.
I’m glad to see that Bon Jovi appeals to a wide age gap.
Bebereader Yes, this album kicks ass! My favorite 3 are THE LAST NIGHT, ANY OTHER DAY & WHOLE LOT OF LEAVING.
It’s natural for kids to rebel, give them time…and they’ll be kicking themselves later for not listening to you.
sara Lots of great tracks in this album. I’m only days away from buying it. OLE!

Gallivaner…You’re right about kids rebelling and all. But six of my daughter’s friends are lined up to go with me to the next Bon Jovi concert when they’re in the NY area. My daughter insists she won’t go; she’s tough act. But I have a funny feeling that at the last minute Miss Toughie will cave. I mean, how can one not go!!! It’s Bon Jovi!!!!

Bon Jovi - Lost Highway REVIEW

[...] Til We Ain’t Strangers Anymore ft Le Ann Rimes I’ve never been a fan of Le Ann Rimes at all. But, I must say that the musical harmony between Jon and LeAnn is wonderful to the ear. AND, Richie’s once again, provides 2 solos! Jon must’ve heard how much Bon Jovi fans missed listening to Richie’s solo acts. 8/10 [...]

Gallivaner: I already caught my daughter sneaking a peek at the screen while I was watching the Crush Tour on DVD. It was at the end, where the band is exhausted after the show and the limos are waiting for them, fireworks are going off. Awesome scene. If any of you haven’t seen the DVD, I highly recommend it.

tincho sambora No problem, your intentions are good.
Bebereader LOL. Inevitability.
Yes, I’ve already watched that DVD – just didn’t like how it was shot. Have you seen the 1995 award-winning LIVE IN WEMBLEY gig?
Bebereader
Jun 8th, 2007
Gallivanter: Nooooo. That’s my next project…to get the Live in Wembley DVD! Did you say ‘award-winning’? You mean it’s better than the Crush DVD?!!! Must go to amazon…right now…LOL Thanks!

Bebereader Yes, go get it.
They had so much energy and got the crowd rocking. This concert was recorded sometime after they rocked Malaysia!

I just ordered the “Live from London (1995)” DVD from Amazon. Should be here in about a week. More good news! There’s a week of Bon Jovi shows in October at the new Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. That’s about one hour from where I live. Close enough! Tickets go on sale tomorrow. I’m gathering people to go with me. So far it’s four; trying to get my daughter to come, too. Quesion: What’s the audience age mix? I would imagine at this point that it’s all ages. Thanks for your help.

Bebereader Wow, to say that I’m envious is an understatement. I’m really hoping Bon Jovi tours this side of the world again. As for the audience mix, yes, expect a smorgasbord.

Gallivanter I’m so excited I can’t think of anything else! Can you tell? hehe Reading back all my comments on here I sound like a nut!! But this my first Bon Jovi concert…ever! There are seven of us going, INCLUDING MY DAUGHTER! But she insists that she will bring her IPod with her to play during the show. She’s relentless! Funny how she already knows all the lyrics to MY favorite Bon Jovi songs! Wish me luck; I have to call for tickets tomorrow.

I’ve only been to ONE Bon Jovi concert, and am yearning for more!

I know the feeling…well sorta, I’m yearing for just one! Where are you located? From watching almost every clip on youtube, I see that they’ve been everywhere, more than once! Speaking of youtube, I just found a clip of Jon singing a slow dynamite version of “It’s My Life”. I could swear that he was crying at the end; it was so emotional. Has anyone seen it? If not, could I post a link here?
Gallivanter
Jun 13th, 2007
Bebereader I’m in Malaysia, the country between Singapore and Thailand.
Well, they toured Asia only once, apart from regular stops in Japan and Australia. Yes, I’ve seen that slow version, and yes, it was a tear.

Of course I love this song! But I don’t think it’s as good as “Who Says You Can’t Go Home”, it is still a great song to hear and think about. Again, Richie’s solo was stellar.

Tyson Don’t think this song could compared to “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” though, you could compare it to “I Love This Town”.

Gallivanter: Just wanted to thank you for your tip to get the “Live in London” 1995 Bon Jovi DVD. It arrived today and I couldn’t open it fast enough. It’s truly a work of art; each song is a masterpiece. The band worked extremely hard and really enjoyed themselves every step of the way. When Jon sang “Always”, I was speechless! And “Wanted Dead or Alive” was absolutely magnificent! I can’t get enough of these guys. I am making up for lost time; learning all of their music at once. And what a great time it is!

Bebereader You’re welcome. That was one of their best, really energetic stuff, and that concert was after they rocked Malaysia, so we witnessed something similar too.

You sure did!!! I just received my free digital download of “Lost Highway” as part of the concert ticket package I purchased. It’s playing now and I’m loving it. Bon Jovi performed outdoors live on The Today Show/NBC this morning because the CD finally dropped today here in the U.S. Happy to say that the whole band was there, including Richie who was looking good! Matt Lauer addressed Richie’s recent problems and the crowd was so supportive. Matt Lauer said that more people came out for this morning’s show than for any other outdoor morning concert they’ve ever had. Now that’s saying something!

Bebereader That’s awesome. So I take it that you bought the CD already?
Bebereader
Jun 20th, 2007
They bundled it in the concert ticket package I bought. My tickets were about ten dollars more than they would have been had the download not been included. Did that make sense? I downloaded the CD from the ITunes code that was given to me by email after purchasing the tickets online. The only downside is that I don’t get the cover and and any artwork included. The CD’s awesome…awesome! Do I sound like a crazed new fan? LOL Because I am! haha

hi.. i want to ask a question..i recently read on a website that the reason why bon jovi made it #1 on the billboard 200 is because to buy the tickets of their concerts u have to buy the cd too they come together so fans were practically forced to buy the cd but i dont think so.. i mean bounce and have a nice day came at #2 without the cd and tickets coming together idea and lost highway isnt that bad not to mention the country fans they made with who says you cant go home what do u think????

Sara: It’s not true. I bought tickets for that show and we had a choice of either buying tickets with Lost Highway, or waiting a few days and buying tickets without the CD. And only four tickets were allowed per credit card for the ones that came with Lost Highway. So we were not forced to buy the CD…at all.

One can never go wrong with Bon Jovi. I just really enjoy his music.. I remember singing with Syura to Livin’ On a Prayer.. I was 4!! My parents’ influence!
I remembered my elder brother and his friend going to KL that time for the concert.. they were in form 5 I think.. and drove my parents mad..
Plus, he gets hotter as he gets older.. so that doesn’t hurt!
