Kuala Selangor Firefly

It was a lengthy drive. Suanie, Hong Kiat, Cely, Lee Yee, Chelva, Lina & hubby Wong and yours truly gallivanted over to the inner realms of Kuala Selangor for fireflies.
It was raining to a great extent prior to our arrival, but we had lady luck on our side. It stopped when we got there. The boat ride ticket cost RM10 per head, maximum 4 to a sampan. It took approximately 30 minutes to complete the tour.
The river, was polluted, and hence it’s been effacing the trees the fireflies thrive in, directly subjugating its population. There were thousands of fireflies. I recall during my younger years that I even get to see fireflies at my home field, albeit a handful. I was awestruck by its beauty. It looked the fireflies were having a rave party. This is what I caught on camera.
LOL. Yup, blank. There were fireflies there, but at the rate of pollution guttling nature, this blank image will be a reality. I don’t think there’ll be any more fireflies left in 5 years.
Just when we got into our cars, the rain poured down like cows and buffaloes. Thank you Lady Luck.
We then drove towards Kuala Selangor town, to sample its seafood. Nothing too scrumptious, but ludicrously cheap. There were 8 of us, ordering 5 dishes – the bill? RM133.
After that, we headed back to civilization (took us approx 1 hour 30 minutes), to Changkat Bukit Bintang, to that tavern formerly known as Hemingway. Good retro music. And when the clock struck midnight, I had my first drink, a Paulaner, followed by Leffe Brown, a Stella Artois and Malibu on the rocks. Was home by 4am.

Yo!
I remember you as the guy who filled your lungs with helium during that blogger party.
You speak as though you’re quite aware of the Malaysian tax regime, are you in the industry?
Anyway, what’s with this camping trip… sounds cool…
