The melody are strangely similar to a song I wrote some 10 years ago. I like the melody, much akin to the genre that I love composing. A 17-year old Taylor Swift. The song is about a girl who is secretly in love with a boy, who is interested in another girl. I think most of us have been there, the heartache of wanting someone who is so close but is out of reach.

Taylor Swift - Teardrops on My Guitar
Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won’t see
What I want and I need, and everything that we should be
I bet she’s beautiful, that girl he talks about
And she’s got everything that I have to live without
Drew talks to me, I laugh, cause it’s just so damn funny
That I can’t even see, anyone, when he’s with me
He says he’s so in love, he’s finally got it right
I wonder if he knows, he’s all I think about at night
He’s the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star
He’s the song in the car I keep singing
Don’t know why I do
Drew walks by me, can he tell that I can’t breathe?
And there he goes, so perfectly, the kind of flawless I wish I could be
She better hold him tight, give him all her love
Look in those beautiful eyes, and know she’s lucky, cause
So I drive home alone as I turn out the light
I’ll put his picture down, and maybe get some sleep tonight
He’s the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only one who’s got enough of me to break my heart
He’s the song in the car I keep singing
Don’t know why I do
He’s the time taken up, but there’s never enough
And he’s all that I need to fall into
Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won’t see

This song is kinda simple, but honest, I like it. I heard her first hit “Tim McGraw” but nothing else came on after that.

Hey there. First time stopping by here. I was attracted by the so many musical-related posts you have. And me, being a music person too!
This is a great song from the lyrics…I have yet to hear it.

I write songs too but still have a long way to go before feeling good about my results, especially my guitar playing…
BTW, is Gerard Singh your brother or something? I saw him performing in Waikiki’s Bar in PJ during Labor day if i’m not mistaken…

Hey, nice one. The lyrics brought me back to when I was young, crushing on some guy who didn’t even know I existed :p

Prianna Yeah, I love the simplicity.
conan_cat Don’t worry, I will - keep your eyes peeled in July.
Giddy Tiger Welcome, just click play above and you’ll be able to listen to the tune. I breathe music.
Kay Kastum Well, as long you’re happy with it, don’t really need to please anyone. I have almost 50 songs under my belt, but haven’t written one for so long. No, Gerard Singh is not my bro, else I would’ve found the “Doot” entry earlier a tad discriminatory. LOL. You Waikiki kaki?
Tine Yes, that’s exactly why I blogged about it, idealistic lyrics that takes you back to being a teenager.
cindy Yes, not too bad.

I wont consider myself as ‘kaki’. i think I only go there like an average of 2-3 times a year…

Paris Beaverbanks Well, I don’t do tags, but this tag, I will. It’ll be up tomorrow.
Kay Kastum Well, Waikiki has gone down the drain since it renovation. Prefer the old “Cheers” concept, where everybody knows your name, and 80s music buzzing in the air.

Kay Kastum Well, I don’t like live bands, because they’re predictable. These days, Waikiki mix the songs with hip hop/rnb mumbo jumbo, attracting hip hop wannabes…

Chief, any place you can recommend? But I like live bands la, complete piece one not a 2 piece band with sequencer etc..

Kay Kastum Don’t get me wrong, not all live bands suck - only the bands at Waikiki do, because they don’t know how to mix it up and keep things fresh. As for places to recommend, I’m running low myself, currently hooked on SANCTUARY though.
