The album’s out - 14th June 2007. I bought the CD, but was thwarted with the marketing side of things. They labeled it SPECIAL MALAYSIA EDITION, but there was nothing special about it. I was hoping for the 14-track album, instead, I had to be contented with the US release. 12 tracks. Blech. Anyway.
To those of you who wonder why I love Bon Jovi so much, well, firstly, their music in some ways plugged the void left by my late dad some 21 years ago.
Bon Jovi is rock that is much like the average soul, trying to be nice to the world, a bit under siege by life, while trying to maintain a positive mentality about it. When you hear an artist blaze away songs with truthfulness, with passion, and with virtuosity, you don’t need it to be the most innovative of lyrics or mind blowing music. It strikes a chord in your heart, and it makes your day better. That is, Bon Jovi.
Also, if you don’t already know, MTV was inspired to create the Unplugged series because of THAT acoustic performance by Jon Bon Jovi & Richie Sambora at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. The rest was history.
This track is taken from the LOST HIGHWAY album. Simple yet resolute lyrics.
Bon Jovi - Everybody’s Broken
Welcome to the party come on in and disappear
You’re feeling like stranger but all your friends are here
Little lies and cracks around your eyes and mouth
Something’s trying to get in something’s trying to get out
It’s okay to be a little broken
Everybody’s broken in this life
It’s okay to feel a little broken
Everybody’s broken you’re alright
It’s just life
Step into the deep end make yourself at home
When you wonder why your breathing know your not alone
It’s so hard to believe it’s easier to doubt
You’re trying to hold in but your dying to scream out
Take a look around tell me what you see
Is who you think you are who you want to be
It’s okay to be a little broken
Everybody’s broken in this life
It’s okay to feel a little broken
Everybody’s broken you’re alright
Just keep on going eyes wide open
Everybody’s broken

Giddy Tiger I think they will in the coming backs. A not-so-special edition with 14 tracks.
BeeLee Yes, the extra tracks, one of it you may like, it’s a slow number called “Lonely”, about someone being there for someone who’s lonely…

Zalfa I’ve no idea when the 14-track will be released, it could take some 4 months, like that special edition of “HAVE A NICE DAY”. In KL? Check out VICTORIA MUSIC at Sungei Wang Plaza.

I do like some of their songs but if asked to choose, I think I’d prefer Nirvana…and of course Peterpan!

Zalfa No problemo.
Jewelle I dislike Nirvana. They only became famous after Cobain’s death. I find their music depressive.
Come on, “Poly Wants a Cracker?” Hahahahaha!

I disagree, I actually started listening to Nirvana in the early nineties. Of course not all their songs are great, and I don’t dwell in the lyrics much. To me its a liberating kind of music, I used to blast them in my ears (its a wonder I didnt lose my hearings!). But seriously, its the beat of their songs that I like : lithium, man who sold the world…again, don’t dwell on the lyrics lah

I dislike nirvana too…You are right my friend, they only became famous after Cobain’s death.
Besides,then born a band called foo fighters…
And i prefer them… I never like nirvana…
They are the opposite of bon jovi, their music is depressive… When bon jovi always try to give a positive message…

Jewelle LOL. Okay, though Nirvana’s not my cup of tea, I respect your taste.
tincho sambora Well, of course, Nirvana fans would never admit it, though they know it’s the truth. They only became famous when Cobain kicked the bucket.

do u know that bon jovi rejected u$s 100 000 000 for make the book BELIEVE…
Jon said this:
“ One of the big publishing houses (he refers to Random House) gave to us 1 million dollars for writing a book on our experiences but we have returned the money because we do not live of it. They wanted the typical history on being a star of the rock and I am not going to tell them´´
Apparently, the denial of the group comes for the special interest of the publishing house in the histories of David Bryan and Richie Sambora, which have happened(passed) recently for difficult divorces. We do not know if already there was anything written and it will be recaptured some day or this will finish for going out though the group does not want and has broken the agreement.

Your lucky buddy, I’ve been counting down for months, and I still have to wait until Tuesday for the release in Canada. I love your dedication to his music.
This song, is probably my least favorite that is on the album, but it is still a great song (How can anybody not like a song by Bon Jovi).

tincho sambora Well, I’m not a huge fan of Foo Fighters. Prefer their earlier stuff, like “This is a Call”, “Walking After You” and “Big Me”.
Jon rejected that much? You sure?
Tyson S Well, hopefully you get the 14-track album.

bon jovi,Nº1 in billboard…After 18 years… :O
They previously obtained it in 1988 with “New Jersey” and in 1987 with “Slippery When Wet”
It´s incredible that a disc so discussed everywhere, fans and not fans, has obtained what Keep The Faith, These Days, Crush, Bounce, This Left Feels Right or Have to Nice Day did not obtain.
We will see the future of Lost highway in the history of Bon Jovi.

robert Yeah, that “special” edition is dodgy, so obvious to see that the marketing companies are milking it so diehard fans will end up buying both CDs.
[Reply]
September 14th, 2007 at 5:26am
here in argentina,we have another “special edition´´
:S
but there are only 12 tracks…
what is happening jon??
They are trying to make us believe that every country is special,so make a special edition in every country, but…
All the editions are the same
