I like both actually.. and the best thing about ais kacang is the red bean (how can you call it yucky??). Anyway, a standard ais kacang should only have those ‘green stuff’, corn, red beans, milk…sometimes ‘atapchi’ but nowadays, people like to put funny stuff in it eg. jellies (?), peanuts (?), nata de coco (??), raisins (???)..etc..etc. And I normally insist on brown sugar only. Dun like the red sirap and it’s way too sweet.

I like the cendol at this van – they’re normally at this park opposite of the Taman Bahagia LRT station. But I haven’t been there for ages (not sure if it’s still the same man or still taste as good). This man used to sell it only on his bike and there’s another selling the rojak. But now, it could be all in 1 van.. not sure.

Another one that sells cendol with pulut.. this.. old man selling ‘by the federal highway’ (going towards guiness factory) ahahah.. on bicycle/3 wheelies only. Also not sure if he’s still doing that as I seldom use federal highway.

I like cendol with durian paste from Melaka :p

.. or.. the cendol/ais kacang from ‘Laksa Shack’ is not that bad too. They serve it in a tall glass. Also like the cendol from Peranakan House.

i know u said apart from Klang valley, but I just feel i gotta mention these two places in Klang

the first one is Cendol Klang, located in Jalan Nenas in Klang town. It’s actually a cendol “restaurant”. But if u want a more classic feel, further along the block, you’d find the traditional push-cart cendol stall. And dont be surprised wen i say that they guy in the push-cart is the owner of the Cendol Klang restaurant.

the second yummy cendol stall is located right opposite the Klang Train Station. It’s the traditional push-cart, located beside Restoran Bismillah.

    wokiez! You just activated a craving in me… MUST… GET… CENDOL….

Does durian cendol counts??? Not for those who dislike durian but for those who loves it, check out the well-established Tan Kim Hock Food Ind in Malacca itself.. absolutely amazing stuff.. Oh, there’s a shop in Kota Laksamana, Malacca, underneath Donald & Lily’s Nyonya Restaurant, it’s fantastically good too.. u can’t miss that!!! Even singaporeans go there to eat!! Ch-Ch-Check it out…

If it’s in klang valley, the one in subang ss15 ain’t bad too, althought much of the hype surrounding it actually comes from the rojak van which has ppl queing up under hot sun for it…

Terence : Come on, the Tan Kim Hock’s chendol tastes like craps. It was really good when it was 10 years ago, but not anymore. The chendol shop below Donald & Lily’s belongs to the same owner of Donald & Lily’s.

The one JC mentioned, I think Earl Ku has blogged about it before.

Heh! Yes, chendol anytime. Ais kacang can be put aside.

I just had the most yummilicious Cendol at Madam Kwan’s on Sunday. Okaaay, I know it’s not original where you sit under the hot sun soaking up a nice delicous cup/bowl of Cendol but it’s still Cendol. :D This is my first Cendol fix in ages!

Terence & Jason… I forgot to mention the one in Tan Kim Hock so tak best la. So kedekut… for that price.. so little only and so little durian. Indeed, the one at the Jusco food court better leh. Very generous with the durian.. yum! 2 days in Melaka and had dunno how many rounds of cendol with durian :p

Agreed. Once I tried Cendol pulut, there is no going back. However, not all places serve good cendol pulut, or even plain cendol for that matter. I’ve tried some that I’d rather pour down the drain. Some of the best cendols are sold on “motorbike stalls”.
