“I have spoken with the eternal angels, I have held the hand of the devil”.
This is the second single off U2’s legendary JOSHUA TREE album in 1987. Their second number one single in USA. Apparently it’s about Bono’s hunt of discovering the meaning of his Catholic religious belief.

Hey, I have been anxiously waiting for news about Justin Timberlake and if he is coming to Malaysia…
Do you have any information?? Any info at all if there’s a slight chance that he might be coming??? I’m a huge fan, and I wouldn’t want to miss his concert!

mat kolej Hopefully U2 tours this side of Asia in the future.
Charissa Nope, sorry, still no news on Timberlake whatsoever. I’ll keep you posted.
Christine I’m not sure about that though, their latest offerings are meek compared to Joshua Tree. Still, they’re WAY better than lame bands like Nirvana.

Joshua Tree broke U2 into the American market and redifined 80s music…… bono sometimes calls it a gospel song.. keke…
………You know I believed it……….
…………But I still haven’t found
…What I’m looking for

Giddy Tiger Thanks, it’s actually a ready-made theme. I only did some tweaking.

Well, it was almost the end of the 80s and an alternative gerne so to speak was in the making…… Alternative Rock!!
….U2 never liked that term …but apart from Rock and R&B they were neither….

U2’s concert is something that I would try hard to go to. Love most of their songs.

Mo I think it’s more pop rock than alternative rock.
Jewelle Likewise. But most of my favorite U2 songs are from that Joshua Tree album. Not a fan of their 90s/00s hits.

Joshua Tree (1987) might be critically acclaimed, but I still like Rattle and Hum (1988) better. Granted, some of the songs in RnH are from JT, but they’re done live, and I like anything live better, electric or acoustic. My fave is the live version of Silver and Gold (IMHO still the best U2 live performance ever). And who can forget Bono backed by that gospel choir during I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For (before the drums etc kick in) Absolutely fantastic.
