Once you’re in a relationship, does it mean that it will be easier as couples when it comes to gallivanting the globe together? First of all, ask yourself this, does she like what I like? Will she opt for the comforts of a hotel while I battle away mosquitoes in the corner of my tent? Does she prefer shopping like there’s no tomorrow while I prefer exploring new places?

If you have answered yes, then you need to find a location where both of you will enjoy - choose a place where all you want to do is relax by the beach while she spends her time trying to bargain. Ultimately, be ready to compromise.

Budget - she may fancy something more comfy while you prefer to live the backpacker’s life. Whatever it is, work out the money arrangements - either split or pool the cash. It’s better to decide beforehand how to manage your expenses.

Traveling together is a big step forward, it will give you an insight of the relationship’s direction.

  1. goodnes..we are all seemed to be in the same boat. has scheduling ur time and synchronizing with your other half been as difficult as mine? i can’t even get through CNY….hahahahaha. I think essentially, it’s just that planning and synchronizing needs to be done together and as best as possible. sometimes unexpected things come out and we can only plan as much as we could.

  3. i couldn’t agree with you more on this one. traveling together, even if you’re best friend, husband/wife, cousins, sisters/brothers/father/mother…etc can test each other’s tolerance over the differences. :-)
