The Touch N Go is a scam for these reasons -

1. your IC has a similar chip and is TNG enabled - do you find the Govt asking you to "renew yr IC after 10 years because the chip has reached its lifespan"?

2. the terms conditions than come with a new card does NOT provide the information that the TNG card is good for 10 years and that it has to be renewed consequently - Why does the T&C not mention this?

3. INACTIVE CARDS : the card MUST be used at least once a year to retain its validity, otherwise it will not be recognised and a RM5 fee will be charged.
This is TNG logic -
i. the RM5 fee is NOT to reinstate the card .. it is simply an "administrative" fee for an "inactive" card - they call it "Policy" !
ii. in order to continue the use of TNG - the "policy" is to replace an inactive card by PURCHASING a new card ... for RM10 only.

4. REPLACEMENT CARDS
i. If you have a faulty card - they will replace the card AND any available credit in the old card will be transferred into the new card

5. Item 4 looks like a non-issue unless you compare it with item 3 in this regard -
they can ONLY transfer credit from a faulty card to a new replacement card BUT NOT in the case of an inactive card.
Makes sense to anyone?

6. The T&C states that - if you wish to discontinue or terminate useage of the card, you must return it in "good" condition.
- Question: if the chip has a 10 year life span .. so why do you need the card returned in "good" condition. Do they intend to re-cycle its use?

.. there's more but this is all time permits me.

Frustrated as smart tag not as convenient as it should be.

The smart tag lanes are placed on fast lanes (that is, the far right side). Should have consideration to place some smart tag lanes in the middle & also the left lanes. Can be easily done by alternating it with cash & touch 'n go lane. Reason is if it is a connecting road from a flyover bridge on the left, it is practically difficult to drive over to the right lane during high traffic time, with the high amount of cars cutting in to the left and middle lane.

<i>mutiara</i> Extended? Well, hopefully they make it an effort to inform touch n go users. I can't remember seeing that in the terms and regulations when I first bought it.
