Bon Jovi – Keep the Faith
SharePosted on 13. Apr, 2008 by Gallivanter in Bon Jovi
Mother mother tell your children that their time has just begun! One of my favorite Bon Jovi albums to date, with songs like “Keep the Faith”, “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead”, “In These Arms”, “Bed of Roses”, “If I Was Your Mother”, “Dry County”, “I Want You”, “Blame It on the Love of Rock & Roll” and “Starting All Over Again”.
This 1992 album was a return of Bon Jovi, after a hiatus for a couple of years. This album indicated their change of genre, switching from metal roots to a more rock-driven album. The starting bass-line of the song is of historical proportions.
Bon Jovi – Keep The Faith
Mother mother tell your children
That their time has just begun
I have suffered for my anger
There are wars that cant be won
Father father please believe me
I am laying down my guns
I am broken like an arrow
Forgive me
Forgive your wayward son
Everybody needs somebody to love
(mother, mother)
Everybody needs somebody to hate
(please believe me)
Everybodys bitching cause they cant get enough
And its hard to hold on
When theres no one to lean on
Faith, you know you’re gonna live thru the rain
Lord you got to keep the faith
Faith, don’t let your love turn to hate
Right now we got to
Keep the faith
Keep the faith
Keep the faith
Lord we got to keep the faith
Tell me baby when I hurt you
Do you keep it all inside
Do you tell me all’s forgiven
And just hide behind your pride
Everybody needs somebody to love
(mother, father)
Everybody needs somebody to hate
(please don’t leave me)
Everybody’s bleeding
cause the times are tough
Well its hard to be strong
When theres no one to dream on
Walking in the footsteps of societys lies
I dont like what I see no more
Sometimes I wish that I was blind
Sometimes I wait forever
To stand out in the rain
So no one sees me cryin
Trying to wash away the pain
Mother father
Theres things Ive done I cant erase
Every night we fall from grace
Its hard with the world in yours face
Trying to hold on, trying to hold on
Faith: you know youre gonna live thru the rain
Lord you got to keep the faith
Faith: dont let your love turn to hate
Right now we got to keep the faith
Faith: now its not too late
Try to hold on, trying to hold on
Keep the faith

I think most (not all needed to, but some who didnt were wiped out) ppl had to change their sound after the grunge revolution. Still, even compensating for the sound change, I think Bon Jovi wrote better songs in the 80s. Keep The Faith, Bed Of Roses, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead etc never could reach the dizzying heights sky-scraped by Livin’ On A Prayer, Never Say Goodbye, Bad Medicine, I’ll Be There For You or even… Silent Night (off 7800 Fahrenheit).

ben I think to each their own, every album brought in new fans, some prefer their earlier songs, some prefer the new ones. It’s still a kickass album. How many rock bands out there can churn out solid albums on a regular basis? A handful.
As for grunge, thank God it’s dead because the genre sucked.

I love bon jovi since I was in the high school. My friend introduced this band to me and ever since i am always a big fan of Bon Jovi. This album is one of my favorite album. When many bands broke, this album proved they wanted to be united forever.
I love the cover of this album. I would like to have it. If someone have this poster, kindly send it to my email. I want to keep it in my room. I think this is very inspiring. kefa_manise@yaoo.com

Redz – Perhaps you could download a high resolution image online, and get those sticker/poster printing companies to print it?
