Well well well, the shocker of the round has to go to Holland who made pancakes out of Italy. I was happy, because I never liked the Italians, though I hate England the most. It is pleasant to watch EURO 2008 without the babied England and their whiny fans who have been clinging on the World Cup 1966 like an itch that won’t go away.
Spain, arrived in splendid fashion, but it’s still a long way to go and it was only Russia. I have joined my company’s fantasy league for EURO2008, though I’m never a fan of fantasy leagues. I usually play fantasy football during WORLD CUP and EURO tournaments only.
Although EURO lack the South American flair of Brazil and Argentina, technically, it’s MUCH tougher than the World Cup. There’s no slap-me-bum-bum countries like China, Saudi Arabia, basically, all the Asian countries. Sorry, but Asia is still a long way to go, don’t listen to Japan nor Korea supporters saying that Asia has caught up. The only thing Asia has caught up is FUEL prices.
Germany vs Croatia - this is clearly Germany’s toughest match in the group, and hence, expectations are still high for the Germans to win the group. Heck, even I expect as well. Finishing second would mean that winning the tournament would be useless.
Czech vs Portugal - Portugal should come away as victors, though a draw could be on the cards too.
Switzerland vs Turkey - The Swiss were turned into cheese by the Czechs, and this time, they will make cold Turkey. Swiss to win.
Austria vs Poland - Zzzzzzz
Italy vs Romania - Italy clearly self-destructed in the last game, and this is a WIN or die situation as a draw may leave their progress into the next round out of their hands. Italy to shade it by a goal.
Holland vs France - this has a draw written all over it.
Sweden vs Spain - at the rate the Spaniards are going, they will hit peak in the group stages and win this match, but will once again be the Great Pretenders and wither away.
Greece vs Russia - both need to win and would play safe. A draw.

am i the only one who thinks the french squad is over rated?i reckon the champs are either going to be portugal,germany,holland or spain.entertainment wise…the dutch has my pick.

I strongly believe Spain has the biggest chance to win Euro this year! I am the strong supporter of Spain. Spain rulezzz..
