George Harrison – Got My Mind Set on You

It was originally sung by James Ray in 1962. George Harrison made it a hit back in 1988 with a cover version, and it was the last number one single in the US for any of the solo Beatles. Though, there’s not much words in the lyrics, and even Weird Al Yankovi took the piss out of it with his release, “(This Song’s Just) Six Words Long”. Still, not a bad tune.

Wow, what a coincidence. It’s also earlier today that I looked for that song, then after getting your FB confirmation, saw this.
Reason I looked up the song: I suddenly had the urge to listen to songs I havent heard in 20 years. I came up with amongst others, apart from this song, Sinead O’Connor’s Mandinka and The La’s There She Goes (a much superior version to Sixpence None The Richer’s cover).
All this while I thought this number was written by George himself and not by Rudy Clark in the early 60s!
