Screwing up a Relationship

Even I had my share of mistakes. Relationship is all about achieving the right balance, and staying off potential minefields. One wrong move and you’re blown to bits like Malaysian’s National Alliance parties (actually they made many wrong moves but that’s a different story!).
One of the screw up is to let you standards slide after making all that effort to capture her heart. Also, be yourself, don’t become another character and then show your true ogre self afterwards.
The past – what can I say? Pasts are like assholes: everybody has one and it usually stinks. Up to now, all your past relationship have failed, from hearts being broken to egos being squashed. Leave all in the past, and the same should be applied with her past. Keep them as memories and start making some new ones with her.
If you like her, don’t get too serious too fast. You’ll come off as a desperate dingo. Love takes time, there’s no such thing as love at first sight, it’s more like lust at first sight. Don’t start planning your wedding and all that jazz.
Don’t play too hard to get – it might backfire and she’ll get bored waiting around. Take the more direct approach to sweep her off her feet.
Learn to take charge – like ballroom dancing – men should lead. A dominating woman will get her way if you bow down to her commands. Don’t – she will lose respect in the long run and you will lose respect of yourself too. If she’s playing games to gain power, call her on it immediately.
The guaranteed way to blow it 100%, is to be in a relationship that’s stagnant. After six months, it’s still the same things you did when you dated together. Learn to mature as a couple, move forward, and share new experiences. This is important.

Ok, lemme give you my two cents worth of thought on what you wrote………a marriage, is the same as a relationship, don’t put enough effort, and poof…..the magic dies. Although I am one month shy of being married for ONE year, we still have problems…..i sometimes tell myself, I’m stuck with this man……………career women nowadays, find it difficult to bow down to men and do often feel like they want to take charge of even their other men, but, what I have discovered is…..to gain and maintain that mutual respect and so called love from your other half ( that martian ), women need to bow down juussst a little…….just to let him “think” that ‘yaaaaaaaaaaaa..i am the man, so i am in charge’…something to do with the male ego…trust me…it goes a looong way…it’s no use, creating that minefield…tho sometimes, a woman just can’t help creating it…probably it’s the hormones, cos when a women creates the minefield, i think that’s what causes the man to distance himself…..I often imagine myself in the shoes of a “third party”, what makes a man go to a “third party”, notice that I don’t want to use that certain word to describe them. Sends shivers down my spine.
Also, past is past, bygones are bygones, sometimes the past passes by…….depends on how each party handles it..i

I so, so agree with you on the ‘Lust at first sight’ sentiment dude. We been there more often than not and most of the time, we end up knee-deep in a relationship we never even ‘intended’ to BE in.
And handing over your ‘male-reproductive’ organ on a silver-platter to women definitely blows the whole thing faster than you can say ‘p@#$$-whipped’, sadly we are living in a world where there are lots of men still doing this. Whats even more sad, I have friends that act like door-mats for their partners and still in-denial of being treated like one no matter how many times I tell them that they dropped their ‘ball(s)’ and lost their ‘Game’ a long,long time ago. Sigh…
