agree with you dude… not bad… almost like the Civic… looks tough from front and looks like one of the european car (citreon?)… from side, looks like BM…

it looks a bit like the accord and the civic, don’t you think?

One of my friends commented that the current Vios looks like a dugong..hhhahha…after having heard that..I do see the dugong in Vios :) Anyway, for me..looks isn’t quite as important as fuel saving.

I have my eye on this too ever since PaulTan blogged about it!! And I love the steering wheel; exactly like Civic’s! Let’s both get it next year! ;)

I was wondering when they would improve upon that ugly piece of crap they called a car and I must say I’m impressed with the design :D Two thumbs and one toe up for them :D

As you can probably tell, I have my connection back … praise the Lord! :D

swordie – Yup yup. Still, I wouldn’t pay more than RM60K for it. :-)

Larawannabe – Yeah, in line with its bigger brothers. Finally Honda’s having some sense.

Fei – Well, at least Herbie’s poo is named after a car. The new Vios, the rear, is seriously ugly.

My Bug Life – Agreed. The designer of the new Vios must have a fetish for dugongs. Fuel saving is one thing, but personal satisfaction is another. :-)

JACQ – Hmmm, don’t want to waste money on getting a new car, I’d rather get a new property. ;-) Having said that, my heart is still with pick ups. D-MAX 3.0!

    impedius – Exactly!

Nick Phillips – High five for agreeing with me on the Honda City’s fugly designs in the past. Welcome back, and praise the Lord! BTW, I’m collecting on his behalf, so donations are welcome. Please contact me personally for my bank number. Hehehehe!

Wow! the new version looks really good! But is it good in saving petrol too? And wonder how much will it be?

The new Honda City is a bit like Civic..

  11. Olie

    Oct 11th, 2008

yeah it does look a lil bit similar with the Civic…

    Oct 11th, 2008

at least now those people who couldnt really afford the civic can now get this one. but then macam alang2 jugak kan. how much also ah? but my heart is still on the latest accord la. *sigh*

I couldn’t agree more with the new Honda City, it’s just classy and beats the old model flat! But…

With the interest rates from banks increasing like nobody’s business, I doubt it’s a good time to buy a car at this moment…

the designers deserve a pat on their backs.looks kickass.the back looks a lot like the current 3 series.and i feel the designers for the fugly new vios should all be smacked in the head and should kick them back to designing school 101.

Car is a car. Looks is immaterial. What is more important is being practical, better mileage and better resale value. I dont want Tiara story to happen to me againa and to anyone. Just imagine bank loan still RM25k but the car value less than RM7k. Damm Proton for bringing big lose for me…..

foongpc – I think it’ll be the same as the previous Honda Shitty. ;-)

Regina Cassandra – It does look like it.

Olie – For a lower budget group.

Ratu Syura – Yabah, I think it’s around 90K. Still overpriced if you ask me. We need to stop pampering Proton and be done with the dramatic sales tax!

d e s – You’re right. Now it’s not the right time to buy. Economy on the brink of recession.

mat kolej – High five amigo! You’re right about the new Vios. In fact, I never liked the City and Vios, but this new City is beginning to change my mind.

smokinlala2002 – True, a car is a car, but of course, there are limits. Everyone is entitled to their own taste, just ask those people who were not in the right frame of mind driving the Berlingo, or the Juara. Yeah, Tiara is a tank. I feel your pain.

vigi – You’re not alone, there are many of us who disliked the fugly Honda City. This one is a different kettle of fish though. :-)

Wow, this new design is so much better than the old one! Anyway, I chose Honda City over Vios because of its fuel consumption, and it’s much more spacious!

Guys guys! I have bought the New City 2009 already, will be getting the car in End of Dec. Launching 18 of Dec in Malaysia. Last month, the honda team when to Melaka for a briefing with yamamoto. Ok! here’s the thing two version :

    1) Basic version: no paddle 5 gear shift and not so cool sport rims and no build in player – will provide JVC player or alternative.

    2) LX model : Full scope as what we seen in the internet, accept the stearing do not have the build in remote for tuning the music volumen and channel.

I don’t know about you guys! but I am taking it for a ride in the next 28 days.

    Dec 18th, 2008

I must say.. it’s a great improvement compared to the 2008 Honda Civic that my friend Kenny recently bought. LOL, I bet he would be furious now after seeing this new model in the market.

However guys, my friend as I mentioned, he is an automobile student graduate and has worked for Honda before during his internship. He had told me that Honda has always have problem in the 1st year of sales. So, it’s best to buy the car after 1 year where they have probably fix all sorts of minor/major problems faced by customers.

    -FOCUSING ON THE FRONT BUMPER-
The City in red.. looks a bit of PROTON-ish and I don’t know why.. the figure of Proton Waja and Perdana just seems to combine in a way…..and the last picture, from that angle of the picture being taken.. OMG IT LOOKS LIKE A PROTON PERDANA!

Anyway, I just hope its a good car and I’ve always been a fan of Honda Civic.. it takes a lot more to impress me in order to make me fall off my chair!

  27. Gallivanter

    Dec 18th, 2008

Kelvin – Actually, it’s not ONLY Honda, BUT ALL new cars, especially the first batch! It’s the kiasus that suffer the most! :-)

  28. Aftermath

The design earns a +100 vs the previous. The quality, i’ll give it -100. The interior was full of sh1t and gaps on the door handles, very plastic like, press its window switch and hear a clunky cheap sound. The doors does not have a vacuum like sound when you close it (sounds more like the Proton Saga door). The body, give it a knock and you’ll hear an empty “Milo” can sound (same like the Proton Saga body).

The Honda sales guy told me the car was assembled in Melaka (is this true?), and it justifies the quality i’ve seen (he actually agreed…hmmm an honest sales guy?). If it is, why in gods name it is still priced so freaking high?

The engine is loud from inside if you floor down the accelerator. Compare this to the previous Honda (did they forgot to put noise absorbers between the engine and the drivers/front passengers seat?)

Well, in summary, looks gained the points but quality gained the minus. For a price of almost 90k, i would definitely say a NO for this car. Don’t just justify the car by looking at its new shape, look for the overall quality for the price you’ll be paying. Adding another 30k to that and you’ll be driving a Civic which is far better anytime (yes i know…different class).
