Bro, i accidently found your blog. what excitement you had experienced on that day. goodness. I know there was a malay girl in my class who SCREAM the very same day. I was in 1S1…or was it 1S2 or S3…forget it! age is catching up. I can’t remember exactly. Anyway, many in my class were puzzled. The rest of the episode – can’t recall. I am not denying all these hysteria cases – maybe there are spirits involved. I know for a fact when I was managing one of the parks in Putrajaya, one of my staff (guy) were possessed – not 1 but a few spirits including a little girl, woman, and snake-like spirit. I heard ‘classic’ malay song one night when I was ‘hunting’ for owls in the park. very nice voice….

dude, if u talking about Malaysia I don’t know whether only Malay who can get hysteria or not. But I spent my high school time in Indonesia before.

My school is located in quite a rural area. After years the place is developing and there’s hospital in building beside my school which before just a empty creepy land. When the building just 10% complete, then suddenly there’s a lot of students, no matter girl or guy, Chinese or Malay, they hysteria. And it continuously for a month!
School committee decided to call the Priest from church to give some holy water in all classes in purpose ghost busting(LOL). At first it doesn’t affect but at least it getting better, we even called Monk and other dukun to do so until it ends completely.

Just a simple story from me, but it’s truth.

Wow!!! You remembered every detail of that incident. I could only remember that we have an early day off after that ‘thing’ happened, and girls were screaming.

Surprisingly, these kind of stuff happen in almost every school. Maybe not histeria, something else, like ghostly images or things we cannot explain. I went to St. Bernadette's Convent, Batu Gajah and there are just too many ghost stories to tell. One famous story is a pontianak sitting on a three next to my classroom at night. And another involve the Japanese, you know the war and everything. They said, at night there are Japanese soldiers marching on the field and the badminton court. It is weird kind of situation but it is common in certain places. Many may not believe if spiritual healers and exorcists associated the phenomena with bad spirits (jinns) rather than normal mental health problems. We find difficult to accept when it affected 50 persons.

who says histeria only attacks malay girls? I have a rare experience here. I remembered when i was f5 in my hostel,guys and girls also afffected by hysteria,though. quite similar like in your case, it was a massive hysteria which involved like 50 boys and girls scholars.boy who were affected didn’t screaming like the girls did.they laid obliviously with eyes openned wide. At one time, me and my 8 other colleagues carried an affected junior to a sick bay. It was so damn heavy that we couldnt ever imagined. some who witnessed us from long distances,claimed that they saw a hairy-elemental,some kind of banshee sitting on the boy’s body.untill now, I still couldnt find an answer why guys also risk of being affected by hysteria. Yeah, if you talk about a scary film, I’m waiting an eerie ones like the 80′s the shining.I’m sick of back glancing hantu raya and all the saka stuffs..

ooh...scary indeed. I've never had those experience myself during my school times. But when I was working with one of the local artiste's event management company, I saw one of the singer having such hysteria and she had a blank look in her eyes, like in a trance of something. Gave me real goosebumps!!! I'm not sure why this kind of stuff affect only Malay girls and come to think of it, yeah, I've never heard about hysteria in a Chinese School or a Tamil School. bro, kuantan town was hit earlier this year as well. apparently, the locals said that a construction site disturbed a graveyard and then a primary school nearby got hit. they called ambulances and the police. last resort….bomoh lor. i think it went on for a few days and eventually faded off. gave me the shivers…..cherio

massy – “Pretty common” sounds scary. Yeah, I’ve no idea myself how hysteria can catch on, in my case, 50 girls almost simultaneously.

Hmmm, it only happened to Malay girls? Weird isn’t it? I think it is because only Malays believe in bomoh2, hantu setan, buatan orang etc hehe. I’m a Malay myself, so before any Malay (if there’s any) wants to bash me about this, I KNOW what I’m talking about, ok? Hahahaha!

And because of the Malay girls believed too much in it, it caught up with them emotionally, causing emotional distress that could lead to hysteria. See, if you don’t care what you did behind the big old tree, you wouldn’t think about it to the point of stressing yourself, right?

It happened in my boarding school as well. It was crazy, it did scared the shite out of me though… you could hear the hysterical sceams from one hostel block to another, macam domino effect. It started when someone mentioned ada orang minyak berkeliaran few days before. So the emotional stress were pretty pent up before the hysterical break, HAHAHAHA!
