3 Ways to Shake Off a Bad Mood

There’s no way of avoiding bad moods, for a plethora of raesons. Sometimes, no matter what we try to do, we just can’t shake it off, and sometimes, even makes it worse! There are a few ways of reducing the occurences of bad moods. I’ve learned this over the years, especially through my musical inclination towards Bon Jovi’s songs, and the hardship I endured in my early years, especially trying to cope with the loss of my dad.
LEAVE
Your surroundings can upset you easily, if it does, make like a banana and split. Get out, do something different.
TREAT
I know ladies know this very well, they treat themselves to retail therapy, leaving the men in a bad mood. I’m not talking about treating yourself to buying another shoe or a bag. Instead, get a massage, go to a spa, buy an icecream, watch a movie. Put a smile on your face without putting a dent in your savings.
RELEASE
Let it all out. A session where you rant rant and rant. Give yourself 3 minutes to whine, bitch, moan about your bad mood. Don’t pause and think, just release until you run out of steam.

I’m all for the massage…. that’s a great way to relieve stress! I do that when I really feel mentally tired or low energy or mood!

Massage definitely helps! Food therapy helps too, but not shopping therapy. Breaks my heart looking at the big hole in my wallet after the shopping is done! Will go into another bad mood and becomes cyclical -not good!
One more way to shake off bad mood is to blog about it! : )

chrisau – Massage works, definitely, especially the ones that use aromatherapy and nature sound.
massy – True. There are a number of us who are permanently in a bad mood. Time to put them to sleep.
xin – Retail therapy, yeah, apparently works on women. I think for men, it’s more unwinding, watching footie, or a good movie or just having a beer.
philters – Enough la, how much time you want?
Nick Phillips – That doesn’t really work for me though, because usually, after short naps, I become groggy.
wel – I only do DVD marathons if it is a TV series. In the last 2 weeks, I did a marathon on Prison Break 4, House 5 and Smallville 8. Once I’m done with the full seasons, I shall review.
Alv0808 – Definitely. Nothing like a holiday. I’m already counting down for my 2 weeks of bliss this July. Sipadan.
Lisalicious – Yeah, straightforward stuff.
sheela – Hmmm, you need some tranquilizer to calm you down, or even better, KILKENNY.
foongpc – LOL. You and me likewise. I always feel bad after splurging on shopping, although it is buying something I need. Blogging about bad moods may not be a good idea if you’re moody all the time. The blog then becomes depressing.
Daniel Ng – That works too.
Kimora – I listen to songs, definitely part of my process.
@dr3h – More than 3 minutes to whine? Yikes! I think 3 minutes is long enough for anyone to moan and complain, anything more, probably need to see a specialist. *RUNS AWAY AND HIDES*
kaDusMama – I LOVE chocolate, though lately have been cutting down (as I made a promise to myself to cut down when I hit the big 3-0.).
bee – Sex, hmmm, that usually comes after the ending of a bad mood though.

oo.. so you think i need to see a specialist ka?
I have a better idea.. next time i need to whine & complaints, I’ll just write it here? how’s that sound? hehehehe

Aiyo… when I am in a bad mood I am making a huge whole in my pocket… thats my bad habits la, can’t shake it off… buying new stuffs makes me happy and it diverted my mind at least for a few hours. By then I won’t be so much in a bad mood….
