Milli Vanilli – Girl You Know It’s True (1989)
Who didn’t like Milli Vanilli, irrespective whether they were fakes and one of them committed suicide? They had hits that were so catchy it took the whole by storm. The funny thing, before they were found out, I remember watching their music videos feeling confused as hell. One song, the fairer dude has a deeper voice, and in another song, he has the lighter voice. Everyone, stand up for Milli Vanilli, the greatest fakes of our time.

Elton John – Sacrifice (1989)
A song about a breakup of a marriage where the loss of the relationship is ‘no sacrifice’. Brilliant lyrics, brilliant tune. If you do not have this track in your collection, start now.
Bobby McFerrin – Don’t Worry Be Happy (1988)
What a philosophy we need these days, especially in Malaysia where politicians are raping our country. It swept the 1989 Grammy Awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. Yes, you can call this artiste a one hit wonder.

98 Degrees – You Are Everything (1997)
You guessed it – a remake of The Stylistics 1971 track. I prefer this version because I disliked the original hum drum. Like most songs in the 70s, a decade worth forgetting in terms of songs.
Madness – Our House (1983)
One hit wonder band called Madness with a song that describes the daily activities in the house. That’s the only decade where I own a lot of songs from the UK. This song never fails to get me jumping like a China-man in a pub.

Inner Circle – Obladi Oblada (1998)
This is my favorite reggae band. I have almost all of their albums in CD since the huge hit “Sweat”. A reggae remake of The Beatles tune of the same name, though I believe that this is a better version than the original track.
