Faiez – Yeah, Europe tap water is safe. We never know the cleanliness of the water, but as long as some measures are taken, we should be safe.

You are right.. People in the rural areas drink ‘milo’ like water due coz they have no clear water. Still, its clean.

Clear water is not always clean.

Did you know that flowing water is cleaner than still water, and a water in a lake is dirtier than the water from a river? Just sharing some facts… heheh

I heard drinking filtered water also means drinking ‘air mati’ (the filter filtered out the minerals and all).

Hmmm, speaking of clean water, here everyone is happy drinking from the tap. When I first arrived I can’t help but ‘eewing’ to that idea and still had the tendency to boil the water first for drinking… but now normal already lah, teehehe.

Still I have this question… like how clean lah their water actually? I know for a fact that theirs is hard water with minimal chlorine. Of course one can see the difference in taste drinking the tap water here and tap water in Malaysia… but then again, why, aside from the hard water/soft water thingy?

perry – Yup – and my guess is that they’re just bottling up water from the tap – their definition of reverse osmosis – water out from tap and into the bottle. Tadaa!

JL – True, the price for bottle water is getting rather ridiculous. All the drama brands and drama methods of extracting water, I got a feeling it’s different packaging from the same source.

RW FINE ART – Uh oh.

philters – Really? I’ve been there but I don’t remember drinking bottled water when you have booze?

Nick Phillips – Yup, what’s even worst – RECYCLED BOTTLES.

TerraShield – I used water filters too at home. How DID we survive before bottled water was introduced?

xin – Well, the worst could happen is possibly cholera – which I’m sure tests have already been carried out. But the rest dramatic concepts and health “facts” – those are argumentative.

Christopher – Those are dramatic people who need to get a life. Might as well carry an oxygen tank around and stay in an airtight home free of contamination.

Some folks drink bottled water only …never consumed from the tap. They just buy it from the hypermart.

Bottled water is convenient if you’re on the go and can’t be bothered to get one of those proper water bottles (the kind mom would have packed for us to school with!)

For home consumption, though… best get a water filter. I’ve been using that for years and am still alive. Ahem.

You’re right on that count buddy. How do we know the water in those darn bottles are clean?

And I know for a fact that some of these bottled water are bottled in unhygienic conditions!

Like everyone else I’ve drank bottled water, so far I have not come across any problems. *Touch wood* But you’re right in saying that bottled water is expensive. If I can avoid buying it I do.

You hit it right on the nail’s head. We just have to trust the people who print those bottle labels and believe that what they say is in the water IS in the water.

When you read an entry on the label like “Punca: Bekalan air paip yang dirawat”, you at least know that the water you’re drinking isn’t very different from what you get at home and it should be at least be safe for drinkng.

Well, we’re all still alive and kicking, aren’t we?
