American Idol – A Shocking Disappointment!

With Kris Allen taking the title (what a disgrace!), much to the shock of the REAL world, you have to question the intelligence of the American people. American Idol is a singing competition and clearly the results proved otherwise. The yankee doodahs must’ve been confused with America’s Got Talent.
Adam Lambert is the most original American Idol contestant of all time. He is arguably better than Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Chris Daugthry combined! Heck, even Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud are miles better than Kris Allen. WTF! What an anti-climax!
Kris Allen will now release an album that will vanish into obscurity. What did the teenie boppers of America saw in Kris Allen? Well, his gimpy style of music of course! Throw him in a hat with Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Gavin DeGraw and Mat Kearney, and you’ll just have another singer.

It was good that Adam Lambert did not win it, else he would’ve been compelled to sing Kara Dioguardi’s piteous song, “No Boundaries”. It is so lame that the only person that would’ve done justice to its lameness is David Archuleta. That song neither suited Adam nor Kris but at least Adam sang in the right key.
Kris Allen has just one good song for the season, “Heartless” by Kanye West, but if you listen to the studio version, it’s so cheesy that it makes you wanna barf. Compare that to Adam – “Born to Be Wild“, “If I Can’t Have You“, “Mad World“, “The Tracks of My Tears“, “Cryin‘”, “One“, “Whole Lotta Love“, “Play That Funky Music“, “Feeling Good“, “Slow Ride“.
However, Americans being arrogantly shallow as they are, have zero knack in music appreciation. And for you Malaysians who supported Kris all the way, you can never appreciate greatness even if it bites you in the ass.
American Idol needs an overhaul. Kris may have won the battle, but Lambert’s gonna win the war. You can’t ignore the class of Lambert, but you can ignore crass of Kris.

Wow, what an anger. Well, I understand what you mean. Adam’s really talented and sings really well. Adam’s fans should’ve done something to make sure Adam win but they didn’t, unfortunately. Or tell the AI producers expand the voting system to cover Malaysia as well, lol.

Or perhaps let me put it this way: Adam’s fans worked hard, but they didn’t manage to beat Kris’ fans unfortunately.

Hi Daniel, you couldn’t have said it any better. Kris Allen is at best an average singer. He had a legion of teeny boppers and his entire state behind him. They obviously voted numerous times each for this poser. This was nothing more than a popularity contest and not based on talent. Simon summed it up last week when he said I have a feeling the final could be a “DUD”. Allen had several duds in the contest, much more than Danny or Allison whom he also luckily beat. Even Allen was stunned at his lucky win. After Allen was announced as the most popular (not talented) he sounded like he was gonna say that Adam should have won, but Seacrest quickly interupted him. This season was a disgrace and I will not be watching future seasons. The only good thing about it is that Adam, Allison and Danny won’t be forced to be the main Idol Puppet and do an album of their choice.

Shocking disappointment indeed. I didn’t follow AI much but still preferred Lambert when I do catch him perform. Allen’s wining performance was pathetic it bores the hell out of me. No goose bumps syok whatsoever. LAME!

hello..greetings from IPOH… last night I just had an argument with my fren who is a Adam Lambert’s fan like u… hahahaha… well, i agree he does sing much better than kris.. he has his own “uniqueness” in a way, original is the word.. whereas kris is just another ordinary singer with a lovable look. The way he sang, he was still showing his lack of confidence esp during the last song… pity him… the notes were just not his vocal… nevertheless, if u ask me to choose my own idol, i prefer kris…hahahaa… please dotn be so angry.. just an opinion..

I don’t think that Kris even deserve to be in the final two, don’t talk about winning the AI. At least if it’s Allison or Gokey vs. Adam Lambert – that would be a better finale. What crap is this?

I have to agree with you. But then this is a vote by sms show so I’m not surprised with the results. I think Adam is better off not winning. Like you said now he won’t be stuck with that atrocious song!

kris has a clean image/a good boy image that’s why i guess the parents’ of those teenagers who voted for kris ensure kris win the competition.
No doubt adam was extremely great but i dislike the image a little bit. I sure don’t want my kids to follow his style…OK I know it’s a singing competition but…..image still counts….hehe.
But no worries adam sure will become a legend….

I kinda predicted Kris would win – typical choice of american voters.
I believe he’s been getting higher votes all this while – coz he fits the american dream boy role – goody two shoes, sweet, religious, normal looking, no eyeliner – and i think adam has more teeny fans – i seriously think kris won coz he had the vote of the conservative americans.
but seriously adam will hopefully follow the footsteps of none winners like daughtry and shine – pick right songs n keep the attitude.
You know i’m still wishing those singers on that rock competition (can’t remember the name at the moment) will reemerge and release good music – sigh i havent had my wish yet.

I love Adam. That guy was effing awesome & what a joy it was to watch him perform. His rendition of Mad World still gives me chills (in fact I watch this performance over & over on Youtube. lol).
I’m bummed that he didn’t win AI but it doesn’t matter really. We’ll see who’s going to be selling more albums and selling out arenas

I agree 100%. Some say it’s because Adam’s gay, others say it’s because he’s a Jew or Kris got the sympathy votes because the judges kept praising Adam…and some claimed they voted Adam but kept getting Kris even though they pressed the right numbers…
But the fact that Adam sang that horrendous song well – though I think they could have done a better job with the music arrangement: weeping guitars and cut out the violins to make it something more of the rock genre that Adam represents – and all the judges could say in defence of Kris’ rendition as the key was too high for him shows very clearly who the better singer is!
I was rooting for Archuleta too last year… Tsk! Tsk!

Are you ok by now? At last i have someone who is rooting for kris too..syura. I only like him( (kris) after he sang appologize ba ( ada ba tu) and finally like adam during the final. Don’t worry,may be it’s a blessing in disguise for adam. He sure will soar..
