I think its not a matter of following "trends" or "keeping up with times", its just a matter of faith and keeping it "real". In our church, we have a small pool just enough to fit 2 people, which is solely used for baptism purposes ONLY. It is filled with water whenever a baptism ceremony is conducted, otherwise it is left empty.
