Beenie Man – I’ll Be Missing You (Song Review)

Yes, it is THAT song from the Police, “Every Breath You Take”, given the ragga treatment. If Puff Daddy did not become famous because of it, I would’ve taken this track to the cleaners for bastardizing a classic. But with Puff Daddy’s bastardization over 10 years ago, it became easier for me to accept this track.
The yelp in between the choruses is bloody annoying, but Beenie Man’s style of rapping complements the reggaesque beat. While I don’t think it’s good enough for me to keep it in my music vault, it’s a good track to listen to as a one-off.
