Who Says You Can’t Go Home
Bon Jovi has serrated a first – not just for the band, but for music history. The hit “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” made Bon Jovi the first rock band to land atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart – a position it now holds for a second week.
Two versions of the single have been recorded, one featuring just the Bon Jovi band members and one featuring Jennifer Nettles, lead singer of Sugarland. Originally, front man Jon Bon Jovi had called on Keith Urban to duet with him on the tune, but apparently found that Nettles was a better fit for the song.
Who says you can’t go home
There’s only one place they call me one of their own
Just a hometown boy, born a rolling-stone, who says you can’t go home
Who says you can’t go back, been all around the world and as a matter of fact
There’s only one place left I want to go
Who says you can’t go home – It’s alright (it’s alright) It’s alright (it’s alright) It’s alright..” – Bon Jovi’s Who Says You Can’t Go Home? (HAVE A NICE DAY, 2005)
