Miss Universe 2011 – My Picks
After looking through the photos of all the contestants, I would have to say no one really stands out for me, mostly are pretty average looks and I guarantee that each country will have much more beautiful ladies with brains. Unfortunately, they probably either cannot stand the pressure of dejection or feel that this pageant is demeaning to women.
Miss Universe 2011 Favorite - Alyssa Campanella USA
The favorites this time around is USA, Alyssa Campanella, a redhead that could do well in my opinion. I used to laugh at the quality of contestants from Asia, but I must admit this time around, in general, there is an improvement, particularly with China, Luo Zilin who has more of a Japanese/Korean look.

The other Asian contestants, Deborah Henry, Malaysia’s own, Korea’s Sora Chong and Thailand’s Chanyasorn Sakornchan are decent bets, though I think they’re more the dark-horses compared to Miss China. Deborah Henry’s ain’t my cup of tea by the way but seems to be Asia’s best bet.

Central America, usually gives us the world’s most beautiful women, is a major letdown this time around, with only Guetamala’s Alejandra Barillas a standout for me. Brazil has got to be another favorite in the form of Priscila Machado.

As for the continent of Europe, they all failed for me. For the Middle East, usually a waste-of-space continent for this pageant, looks promising through Egypt Sara El Khouly.

Overall, again, no one really stands out for me this time around, so instead of me predicting the winner, I’ll predict the Top 5, Top 10 finishers.

I think they’re both outsiders.
Only 2 or 3 of your choices made it to the top 16. Ms. Angola is Ms. Universe and Ms. Philippines is 3rd runner-up. Both performed better than Ms. China but I think Ms. Brazil is pretty.
