Paul Anka ft Jon Bon Jovi – My Way
“Like Frankie said I did it my way!”
Jon Bon Jovi joins forces with Paul Anka, the original writer of “My Way”, made popular by Frank Sinatra. It’s a story-telling tune of a man who is staring at the face of death and reminisces his life, and is happy how he lived it – no matter the achievements, regrets, sadness and joy.

Paul Anka & Jon Bon Jovi – My Way
And now, the end is near and so I face the final curtain
My friend, I’ll say it clear, I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain
I’ve lived a life that’s full I’ve traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way
Regrets, I’ve had a few but then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course each careful step along the byway
But more, much more than this, I did it my way
Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way
I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried, I’ve had my fill my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that and may I say – not in a shy way
No, oh no not me, I did it my way
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows – and did it my way!

Nice twist with the addition of JBJ.
Also, you might be interested to know that My Way is the Sabahan politicans favorite song…
gave me goosebumps in a good kind of way.
Jewelle All politicians in Sabah? Sure not the whole of Malaysia ka?
kris Yeah, I felt the same effect too…
is that jon the same jon from destination anywhere?? =P
the same look…
and i like that song, that version with jon…
25 years after,we must recognize that jon´s voice is better than a few years…
I did it my way =P
Never really was a big fan of frankie or his music , but i must say Jon does a good job on this, and makes it easy listening shivers mmmmmmmm
tincho sambora Yes, it’s back to his Destination Anywhere look. Surprisingly, his voice in this song was phenomenal, unlike the records he’s been churning after the year 2000.
Christine Definitely, nice chills to have.
oooo..this is a little different but then again, i dont really like this song but i guess JBJ gave it that little edge.
Wow this song is one of my favorites.Even though it doesn’t get on the goosebump scale of Sinatra singing it live it is right under that one, lol!!
Yvy I don’t really like this song either, but this rendition has got me pumped up.
zusje I haven’t seen Sinatra’s live performance. Hmmm
Thanks for posting this, Daniel! It has that goosebumps factor, for sure. I have tickets to see Bon Jovi in a few days at The Prudential Center in NJ! It’s my first time EVER; I’m so psyched!
Bebe You’re welcome Bebe.
You’re gonna have a great time! I’m so envious of you!

i was thinking that maybe you can post it like a new artist, just like you did with carrie underworld…
Hey Daniel thanks again for sending me this song . You know how i feel about these guys having been a fan since the 80s Jon could sing the alphabet and make it sound hot. But seriously thanks i love the chill factor of my way eeeeek i think i’m turning into my mum lol x
tincho sambora Thanks, I’ll check it out.
Christine Well, bottom line is, one could never go wrong loving Bon Jovi’s music!
The show at The Prudential was un-freakin’-believable! First time for me; man did I miss out on so many years of great music! Amazing performance. Be sure to check out the videos on youtube. Richie sang These Days, the band was on for two and a half hours straight with no break, sang roughly 35 songs, only five from Lost Highway, the rest were oldies. It was like a greatest hits concert! Jon moved around the stage, jumping off platforms to give the fans a good view, kneeling on the floor; he leads the audience like a preacher in a church; they follow his every command! “Sing it!, he shouts or “Lemme hear you by yourselves this time!” He’s an amazing frontman; can’t get any better than Jon Bon Jovi.
Hey BeBei am so jealous can’t wait till they come to UK do you have any dates yet Daniel
Christine..It was one of the best nights of my entire life! I’ve been to many concerts before…Rod Stewart, Pink Floyd, Elton John etc but Bon Jovi is THE BEST!!!
Bebe, you don’t have to tell me how great these guy’s are your preaching to the converted.I totalyagree with you my friend they are THE BEST long may they continue x
Christine: AMEN!
Bebe I know exactly what you meant as I too attended a Bon Jovi concert. No one interacts with the crowd as much as they do.
Christine I think they’ll be touring UK next summer as always. Just hoping they visit Asia again.
