Interestingly enough, not all of us experience this. How does one get a brain freeze? Well, by consuming something cold really fast, like ice cream or ice-cold drinks. Typically it can last up to 20 seconds, and the pain you feel in your brain is  like someone pressing an ice cube on it.

I’m a brain freeze victim. I try to consume cold drinks at a slower rate to minimize the brain freeze from taking place.

How do you know if you have brain freeze? Well, you need the following;

1. A brain. It will not work otherwise so this is crucial.
2. A cold drink or a cold ice cream or a cold ice cream drink.
3. Consume it quickly.

Do you feel it?

If you don’t, then you are either not affected by brain freeze or you have failed to meet the fundamental requirement of Point 1. Uh oh.

I don’t think it’s fair for me to label this as an addiction, considering that it’s my 4th go-karting experience in 2 years. It’s not that I don’t enjoy it, but it’s too pricey considering the shortness of the race. You pay around RM60+ for 10 minutes – do the math! While on the race track, it may seem like a long time when you’re racing at full speed, it’s still doesn’t justify the cost.

Having said that, I’m hoping it’s not too late for me to have this as a hobby and to have a bunch of regulars  I could do go-karting with, like the recent outing we had last Saturday, 9pm at the Sepang Go-Kart track. Yes, we raced at night! The track’s layout is exactly the same as the Malaysian GP track.

We coughed up RM150 each for it, where we had 12 minutes of practice sessions, 12 minutes of qualifiers to see where you start on the grid, and the race itself. It was worth it because we had the timings recorded and possibly the closest experience I will have to F1 racing. For now.

9 of us took to the track, 7 guys and 2 ladies. It’s my 4th karting experience, while it was the first time for 5 people. Victor, who is the regular go-kart racer, was a self-claimed favorite.

I understand now that your minimum weight must be 72kg, anything less, they will add weight to the car to equalize with all the racers. Interesting fact and a good one to even the racing field. However, if you weight 100kg, go karting’s not for you.

I don’t know if most of you know this, but a little over 10 years ago, when you celebrate birthdays at nightclubs, you’re given the dentist chair treatment. I received ONE dentist chair treatment and that was during my 21st birthday bash at Bangsar Shopping Centre where a club called Iguana’s reigned supreme.

They evacuate the dance floor, put a table and then a chair on the table. They stop the music for all to watch the birthday boy. Then a waiter climbs up on the chair and goes behind the birthday boy, who’s seated on the chair on top of the table.

In his hands, he had 2 bottles of liquor on each. Mine was a concoction of tequila, gin, vodka and and whisky, and all are poured in a steady stream into my mouth and I had to gulp it in as fast as I can as much as I can. The game would stop if the drinks pour on the sides of your mouth and then you go again, depending on your friends.

I had 2 rounds of God-knows how many seconds. It was shortly before 9pm and that was the last thing I remembered about my 21st birthday bash, where I closed a section off and invited over 30 college mates who all showed up in full force.

I remember the bad taste that it left, reminded me of a half-assed Graveyard cocktail, which I had too on the same night. What a crazy 21st birthday bash!

I wonder if there are still any clubs out there who organizes The Dentist Chair for birthdays. Mayhem!

Well of course they do – to flaunt their sexuality while they still have it.

Usually it will depend on the woman’s mood, if she’s in the dating scene and single, she would be more inclined to show off her breasts. However, if she’s feeling not sexy, she won’t. Having said that, it can sometimes be unintentional as she may wear an outfit to make a fashion statement or to compliment her jewelry.

We men respond very well to really short shorts and of course, the mammary. It would be unmanly if we don’t as nature intends it that way – yes, we use that excessively as an excuse! There wouldn’t be a push-up bra if it wasn’t the case – and obviously women know that!

I wonder sometimes if a woman reveals part of her breasts, does it mean that it’s hot – temperature-wise? We men got it easy, either take off our shirts, wear thin material when it’s warm outside, women don’t get to do that in most countries. I’m sure ladies with larger breasts would relate to it even more, no?

But of course, they are girls out there who use their cleavage just to manipulate men. However, I don’t think there are many who do it mainly to manipulate, I think most are unintentional and more for comfort and self-sexiness.

Whatever the reason is, we men are happy to notice thank you very much!

I’ve done this before and it worked but I didn’t know that it’s actually a feature in most elevators, not sure all of them though. Give it a try, especially during rush hour, see if this is true. I’ve tried it and it worked at my office building and my condo, then again it could be pure coincidences, albeit one too many.

I have to say it’s true to a certain extent although I say this is a little too generic. They forgot about girls who do the looking up pose while taking photos – clearly a sign of a girl who’s immature or underage, or a horizontally-challenged girl or a girl who wants to hide that double chin. Did I hit a nerve? Are you one of the culprit? Haha!

For dudes, well, it’s an attempt to hide a shoddy body or beer belly I suppose. Looking at my photos, it doesn’t seem that I fall into this category despite having a shoddy body. Haha!

Whatever way we do it, chances are remnants of it might come back out due to the pressure, although on the side, if you aim properly, it is minimized to 1%.

I don’t know about other men, but when I’m in the toilet at someone else’s home, I make it a point to pee a little to the side away from the toilet bowl.

At home, you can’t believe what I practice now – I sit on the toilet bowl to pee! Haha! I can hear the teasing comments being thought right now. However, after making it a habit at home, cleanliness levels go up to 99.9%. I don’t know if I’m willing to do that out an outsiders home though.

Now, who wants to invite me to their house? I’ll make sure my bladder is full before I visit. Haha!

Meaning: This information was received from the highest authority.

Origin: In horse racing circles, tips on which horses were injured, rested, and particularly strong came from those in closest proximity to the horses themselves. The most trusted sources for horse-racing-related information were stable hands, trainers, etc. The phrase “straight from the horse’s mouth” indicated that the information came from a place even closer to the horse than its inner-circle of handlers: the horse itself.

Meaning: I’m kidding you.

Origin: This phrase originated in Scotland, and it used to have a much more literal meaning. The term “to pull one’s leg” literally meant to trip someone, or “pull their leg” out from under them, causing them to fall on their face and look like a complete idiot in front of all of the cool Scottish kids. Nowadays, it’s generally used to make someone feel better after they’ve already been made to look like a retarded asshole.

Cats, being the crafty creatures that they are, would often escape during the transaction, thereby revealing the seller’s sly secret.

A Bird in the Hand is Worth Two in the Bush
Meaning: A shitty sure thing is better than two awesome fat chances.

Origin: The earliest form of this idiom can be found in the Bible. In the book of Ecclesiastes someone says something like “a living dog is better than a dead lion”. In this context, they’re referring to the fighting power of each animal, stating that, while a live dog is not a better fighter than a lion, it will definitely be a better fighter than a dead lion.  The modification of the phrase to refer to birds probably results from this idiom being used to refer mostly to women, commonly referred to as “birds” in olden times, and presently in modern England. Therefore, the phrase really means “it’s better to have an ugly slut than two pretty prudes.”

Don’t Beat Around the Bush
Meaning: Don’t float around the issue. Get to the f*cking point already.

Origin: Most people who study idioms believe that this phrase is tied to old timey hunting practices that were utilized before you could use dynamite and booby traps to kill any kind of game, like you can today. Back then, a team of “beaters” would go into the woods and literally beat around bushes to frighten the game out of the woods and into the waiting crosshairs of lazy hunters. The hunters, however, were the only ones who were allowed to actually kill the prey. The beaters basically created a diversion. Therefore, beating around the bush is creating a distraction to avoid confronting the actual issue, or prey, as it were.

Take It With a Grain of Salt
Meaning: To accept what you hear, but be skeptical about its validity.

Origin: Salt was believed to possess healing properties. If someone suspected their meal of being poisoned, they would add a pinch of salt to combat the poisonous ingredients. The phrase “take it with a grain of salt” derived from this culinary practice and was applied to the exchange of information, the analogy being that a lie in conversation is the equivalent of poison on your food, which coincidentally are always better with a little salt.

Paul the Octopus

Apparently this Octopus’ record is 80% accurate, and it has correctly predicted all of Germany’s World Cup matches so far, including that defeat to Serbia. And all of a sudden, it’s a celebrity of its own.

Unfortunately, a number of people BELIEVE (I don’t want to name a race for fear of being called a racist. Haha!) its oracle-like predictions, but did anyone actually think it’s NOT a prophet?

I’ll give you ONE – Germany is a tournament team and naturally do well in competitions – semi-finals or finals, just look at their past record. As for Paul’s choice, do we know what goes into the food container, how do you know for sure that the German zoo figured it out and “fixed” the prediction?

Sure, you would ask what about Serbia. Well, what about Serbia? It is after all a game of chances and luck. Remember, this octopus has a 80% prediction accuracy and NOT 100%.

Of course I don’t believe in this nonsense, but seeing people clamoring about it on Facebook is hilarious. I didn’t know I have a number of muttonhead friends.

Whatever it is, Paul has definitely proof a point that it is NOT a blur sotong! Haha! Now it has predicted Spain to beat Germany in the semi-finals tomorrow. Whatever happens, I’m very proud of this young German team, and just hope an European country lifts the World Cup, because South Americans, despite their style of play, are dirty buggers.

Sunway Pyramid Aims to be Malaysia's Biggest Mall in 5 Years

The Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall plans to be Malaysia’s biggest mall by size within the next five years! I’m a regular there, at least twice a month and I’m looking forward to the expansion so I do not have to rely on Midvalley all the time for its completeness.

I just wish Domanchi opens up a branch here. Currently, Sunway Pyramid is 1.7 million sq ft in terms of shopping area, and Midvalley stands at 2.5 million (with a God knows how much wasted for Gardens), while 1Utama is at 1.85 million.

My second home Kota Kinabalu, One Borneois 1.5 million sq ft, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is 1.37 million sq ft while KLCC is 1.18 million sq ft.

Mel & I usually arrive at the mall by 11am to ensure we get a carpark and spend a good few hours there, roaming around the place, watching movies, shopping, the works.

And since I am planning a major home investment in the coming years that would see Sunway Pyramid remaining as my nearest shopping destination (Subang Parade cannot be taken into consideration as it’s a hasbeen), I’m looking forward to its expansion in 5 years.

No matter how hard we try to be content with life, we will never be satisfied, as such is human nature and the process of evolution.

Who am I kidding? If you can’t stand my directness, then I’m sorry but that’s just the way I am on some matters where I just cannot accept how a person fails to see the bigger picture.
