Looking at the list of celebrities and their odds, here are my picks for FHM Sexiest Women for its 2012 edition. P.S. I never liked blondes, I always think brunettes are way hotter and with more elegance.

I caught a glimpse of the contestants of the Miss Tourism International 2011 in Sunway Pyramid a few weeks ago. I definitely have a height disadvantage! Humbug! I understand that the competition climaxes tonight on New Year’s Eve in Malaysia.

With some time to spare before our annual dance party, with me as a DJ, begins, I decided to look at the contestants to come up with my picks. After just looking at their sole glamor shots on the official website, I realized that there’s not a lot to choose from but I’m sure a few aren’t photogenic either. However, if based solely on their glamour shots, I reckon Asia has a decent chance of success. See for yourself.

While she’s not the most beautiful woman on earth, there’s a certain level of sexiness about her. I remember thinking “Umbrella” was an overrated tune and she has then won over my with a slew of hits including “Run This Town”, “Don’t Stop the Music”, “Hatin’ on the Club”, “Take a Bow”, “Love the Way You Lie”, “California King Bed” and “Cheers (Drink to That)”.

If you come here expecting Rihanna showing her glory, sorry to disappoint you. This is sexiness at an art form, a celebration of the female race.

After looking through the photos of all the contestants, I would have to say no one really stands out for me, mostly are pretty average looks and I guarantee that each country will have much more beautiful ladies with brains. Unfortunately, they probably either cannot stand the pressure of dejection or feel that this pageant is demeaning to women.

Miss Universe 2011 Favorite - Alyssa Campanella USA

The favorites this time around is USA, Alyssa Campanella, a redhead that could do well in my opinion. I used to laugh at the quality of contestants from Asia, but I must admit this time around, in general, there is an improvement, particularly with China, Luo Zilin who has more of a Japanese/Korean look.

The other Asian contestants, Deborah Henry, Malaysia’s own, Korea’s Sora Chong and Thailand’s Chanyasorn Sakornchan are decent bets, though I think they’re more the dark-horses compared to Miss China. Deborah Henry’s ain’t my cup of tea by the way but seems to be Asia’s best bet.

Central America, usually gives us the world’s most beautiful women, is a major letdown this time around, with only Guetamala’s Alejandra Barillas a standout for me. Brazil has got to be another favorite in the form of Priscila Machado.

As for the continent of Europe, they all failed for me. For the Middle East, usually a waste-of-space continent for this pageant, looks promising through Egypt Sara El Khouly.

Overall, again, no one really stands out for me this time around, so instead of me predicting the winner, I’ll predict the Top 5, Top 10 finishers.

Firstly, forget about Malaysia and all South East Asian countries as usual, except maybe Thailand this time. Apparently, I read that the hot favorite for the title is Venus Raj, Miss Philippines. I’m not so sure. Here’s a photo of her:

Hmmm, it could possibly be her Amazonish look, but she just doesn’t tickle my fancy. So here’s my pick, my lucky 13 to do well in this year’s contest, scheduled for 23rd August 2010, in no particular order.

Miss Australia - Jesinta Campbell

Nothing too exciting about Miss Australia’s look and surprisingly that could be to her advantage, the squeaky clean “innocent” look.

Miss Brazil - Debora Lyra

Miss Brazil, Debora Lyra is hot, South American hot! Could be one of the favorites, my money to finish in the top 10 at least.

Miss Great Britain - Tara Vaitiere Hoyos

I’m not so sure about Miss Great Britain of winning the title, but at least the Brits are doing something right rather than the usual cack. She’s obviously mixed-blood, could be Great Britain’s best bet in recent years to make them proud.

Miss Ireland - Rozanna Purcell

Ireland had a yummy Miss Universe a couple of years ago, and Rozanna Purcell will be hoping that the Irish leprechaun luck shines on her all the way to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. She has this 80s look going in this photo.

Miss Mexico - Jimena Navarrete

This photo doesn’t do her much justice, but I reckon Jimena Navarrete should do fairly well in this competition. Her arms is a little to thin for my liking, so she’s a contradiction to the very definition of a woman.

Miss Russia - Irina Antonenko

Again, this photo doesn’t do her justice, but she’s nowhere as good as the last Russian beauty that won the title, only to have it stripped because she refused to give up her policewoman day job. Irina may make it to the top 20.

Miss Spain - Adriana Reveron

Looks like Spain’s got everything going for them in recent years – the national team, that tennis player, Spanish football, and now for the first time in a long time, a hot-looking Miss Spain, Adriana Reveron.

Miss Thailand - Fonthip Watcharatrakul

Fonthip has this Pan Asian thing going about her, and she looks really young in this photo, under 18 in fact. Her cute look may go down well with the judges, Donald Trump especially. This is South East Asia’s best bet this year.

Miss Turkey - Gizem Memic

Miss Turkey is clearly not a turkey. Yes, I just had to say that pun. Haha. Gizem Memic has this 80s going on 90s look about her. It must be the hairstyle. She has an outside chance to sneak into the Top 10, but I think Top 30 is her safest bet.

Miss Uruguay - Stephany Ortega

Stephany Ortega, Miss Uruguay has this very sultry look about her. While I hate South American football – all the dirty tactics and cheating, I find their women simply smoking hot. She looks like she’s wearing contacts. Either way, she’s delectable – should make it into the Top 10, barring any communication calamity.

Miss USA - Rima Fakih

The irony, although her name might give you the impression that she’s from a terrorist country in the middle east, Rima Fakih’s a Lebanese who emigrated to the US and went on to win the Miss USA title. Typical American dream. She looks a little like Eva Longoria, and with that, I think she has a great chance getting into the Top 5.

Miss Venezuela - Marelisa Gibson

Usually, Venezuela and Puerto Rico never fails to come up with gorgeous looking women, not this time though. While Puerto Rico has a contestant that is very average, Venezuela doesn’t do any better either, probably shaded it a little. Expect Marelisa Gibson to go very far in this competition, simply because of the history of her country that will play a major role.

Only Spain and Holland stand in the way of Germany claiming their 4th World Cup title. However, I think it could be a case of one too many strong opponents. Spain will and should prove a much tougher opponents than England and Argentina combined, so I’m not expecting much from this young German side.

Unlike most of you out there, I only support ONE team, and not a group of so-called “elite”, hoping for one to lift the world cup to satisfy my footballing desires. If you support more than one national team, you’re just someone who’s scared to lose. I dare you to pick ONE national team only and stick to them forever. Can?

Looking at my selections again, it only showcases the weak points of Miss World compared to Miss Universe. Miss Universe contestants have an aura about them. As for our very own Miss Malaysia – LOL.

Miss Earth 2009 Contestants

Surprisingly, from the faces that I clicked from the above list, Miss Indonesia and Miss Malaysia was in my selections. I don’t know if that does not say much about this year’s contestants. We’ll see. After loading up Miss Colombia, Miss Cuba and Miss Ecuador as well, I short-listed only 2 from the list, and it’s Indonesia vs Malaysia.

Okay, looking at them again, I take it back. Miss Earth is a poor alternative to Miss Universe.

I quickly took a look at the faces after bracing myself for the worst, and picked out 2 potential winners, and apparently it looks like my choices are from East Malaysia! The rest, well, seriously, by the time you’re done looking at the photos below, you would wonder how in the world they have made it into this competition. Do you really want these lasses to represent Malaysia and receive the lowest vote amongst all the nations just like that Miss Malaysia Universe the last time – the LOWEST!

OK, let’s get the bad ones out of the way first. Bad here I mean NOT Miss World standard.

Have you fainted yet at some ghastly contestants? Yes, this is what I call the BRUTAL truth. There are a handful here are not too tatty-looking but some definitely need a reality check!

Now, as for my top 2 picks, one’s a stick figure which is pity, and the other, could possibly give Malaysia a decent chance to breach top 50.

Marie Bibiana Miss World Malaysia - a little too stickly for me

While Marie has the height, she’s a bit flat on the curves, certainly needs to work on that as it gives her a “stick-figure” look. Her facial features are OK though.

Crystel Eve Miss World Malaysia - the best of the lot

She has that elegant look, yet very Asian, so, based on only the photos, she would be my choice. But, we all know how “Ah Lian” the judges can be in their choices.

I’ve seen before one Miss Malaysia competition TV and it was shocking in terms of bimbosity!
