You can never find a band like Queen, the most eclectic rock band ever – most of their songs are unique, so unique. While this track doesn’t command that uniqueness to the maximum extent like how Freddie Mercury likes to bring it, it is surely one of their best tracks. Oh how I would’ve loved to have seen Queen in concert.

The song was written by Mellencamp and George Green, a childhood friend. The song was first conceived, Mellencamp claims, in his shower and the first lines created were those of the chorus written by Mellencamp, he then said the lines to Green and they finished the song very quickly.

This is one of my favorite British pop tunes from the 80s. The song’s lyrics mostly describe the working class family lifestyle, and the band acts them out by portraying such a family in the music video. There’s nothing deep about the track, just a fun tune all around.

Oh how I loved this song and constantly played it with my guitar. It was released as a live track for Bryan Adam’s MTV Unplugged album and good thing he did too! The arrangement of the guitar and piano is superb.

I remember this tune kept on playing in my head while I was sitting for a major school examination to the point it became really annoying. I hate it when I can’t get a tune out of my head although I think this is an excellent R&B track.

This is arguably Awie’s best song from his solo efforts when he’s not leading his band Wings, a local Malaysian rock outfit. The song’s written in Malay language and it’s about regrets and asking for forgiveness from a loved one.

If you haven’t heard of this song, you might think it’s a Christmas carol by the name, but when the intro goes, “Jeremiah was a bullfrog” you’ll realize it’s a song that doesn’t make sense. But it’s bloody catchy! Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea, joy to you and me!

Axton wanted to convince his record producers to record a new melody he had written and the producers asked him to sing any words to the tune. Chuck Negron felt that the band needed a “silly song” to help bring the band back together as a working unit.

One of the most underrated rock bands in the late 80s, overshadowed by world-class acts like Bon Jovi and Def Leppard. I bought their greatest hits and enjoyed their genre of blues rock and this embodies how Cinderella wanted to be defined.

He’s the lead singer of the rock band called Europe, and went to release a solo album in 1995 which I bought simply because of this song alone. Unfortunately, the other tracks aren’t any good but this one stood out for me to remain of my favorite light rock tunes.

This is one of the oldest cha cha tracks and it’s from my favorite singer from the 60s, Sam Cooke. I would like it if an artist today does a cover version and give it more of a beat to make it relevant to the current generation as it’s such a classic that shouldn’t fade away.

I cried to this song countless of times in the past, especially coming to grips with the death of my father when I was a child in 1986. It still hurts listening to this song and it’s one of a handful of songs that will never fail to bring me to tears – even know as I write it, I am swelling up. I miss my old man.

This is arguably Bryan Adams’ most underrated track, and it’s a brilliant track for wedding days. The accompaniment of the musical instruments can take you on a cloud 9 ride, forgetting the world around you as you dance your way with your other half into a new life. One of my favorite Bryan Adams’ track.

I was heading towards secondary school when Linear released their album – and it had a good number of catchy tunes apart from “Sending All My Love” of course. If I had listened to the album a few years older, I would’ve brushed it off as a kiddie boy band. Well, that didn’t happen.

A song whose lyrics do not make any sense, I wonder if it was a direct translation of an old Jamaican children’s ring game cause that’s what it was. This tune was Boney M’s B-Side to “Rivers of Babylon”, and both were excellent tracks outright. I grew up dancing to them when I was 3 years old.

I never heard of this band until my better half sang it during our courting time when we hit the karaoke. Then it all became history as I quickly became attached to this song – a very catchy Indonesian track. And it certainly helps that the singers are pretty too. Ole!

Long distance love affair. Sheena Easton had a handful of memorable tunes but this one broke the American music charts, well, the second one after “For Your Eyes Only”. However, I prefer this song over that slow tune.

I wasn’t a fan of the original Grease movie as I found Travolta a tad too annoying for my liking. I’m probably one of the very few on planet earth who prefer Grease 2 instead. I remember the intro and the movie, with a number of really good songs, including the film opener by Four Tops.
