Arthur’s Day Malaysia Celebration with Black Eyed Peas – A Review
Boom boom kapow! Black Eyed Peas unleashed so much energy that it would’ve made Sabah’s electricity problems a thing of the past. Myself and Mel embraced the gumptious performance that it induced us into a state of euphoria!

Black Eyed Peas Arthur's Day Celebration Malaysia
We only arrived there at 9pm and the crowd swelled just in time to witness the kick-ass Black Eyed Peas rocking the set after 10:30pm. Remember my cuss on the obscure makeweight artistes that made the Arthur’s Day performing list? I take it back! It gave us time to ingest Guinness Stout while awaiting the real thing, Black Eyed Peas!
Booze was RM10 per pop and I had about 6 (well, 5 actually as I left 3/4 on some wooden garbage container in Sunway – when we ate steamboat – mmmm…quail eggs).
My only gripe is that we weren’t allowed to bring the booze into the concert area but that didn’t matter as I was spiritually intoxicated in the nick of time to trip the light fantastic with the Black Eyed Peas. Songs include “Let’s Get it Started”, “Shut Up”, “Don’t Phunk With My Heart”, “Pump It”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Where Is The Love”, “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling”.

Black Eyed Peas Arthur's Day Malaysia
Guinness Stout is a much more classy booze than beer will ever be. Mix it with the Black Eyed Peas and you have on your hands a potent concoction that will vivify your soul. This was Black Eyed Peas 4th visit to Malaysia and I hope there would be many more to come! It’s time we replace regular visitors like the boring “Air Supply” and retarded “Michael Learns to Rock” with something energetic.
The fireworks display in the end summed up the night – perfection. Oh and by the way, TO ARTHUR!

it’s not fair that camera’s not allowed in
Cameras not allowed? You sure? I brought mine in and so did a bunch of other peeps… no check at all..
I reached Pyramid before 8pm and went to grab dinner before going in… expecting that BEP will be up last (if they’re to perform first.. i guess that’s it after BEP). Performance by other artistes tend to be a bit boring.. and by the time BEP is up.. I was like.. too tired already :p But enjoyed myself nonetheless (I like that MJ/old school mix!). I regret that I didn’t make it for BEP’s concert in Genting.. If they’re gonna have a concert here again, I’m not gonna miss it! To Arthur!
I heart The Black Eyed Peas!!!
Myself and a few of the lads did go, but the queue for the beertent was miles long. Don’t have much patience for queues myself…..but….managed nonetheless.
Did you guys happen to see a girl that had a rainbow beanie on?
War..the place is so fully-packed! :p can’t imagine myself got sardined canned in there. Nonetheless I believe it was a very fun night for a lot of people!
it was a great performance by the PEAS.. it was rather difficult to squeeze into the middle of the crowd but still me and my friends manage to enjoy ourselves there. They just rock man!! had they appear as the first performance of the night, it will just end like that after they leave the stage. =]
chegu carol – Yeah, but I think you can bring it a compact camera, not anything that look remotely like a DSLR or semi-DSLR like mine.
Terence Lim – Really? I think they probably checked randomly as I saw the Rela officers checking the ladies bags. I found out that compact cameras can be brought in discreetly.
jc – BEP is energizing, and Will.I.Am’s 30 second mixes of classic tunes was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Don’t miss them if they visit Malaysia again!
earthy emily – That makes the 2 of us!
Diarmuid Curran – I was in the Guinness “The Tavern” area after a 20 minute wait in the queue. I thoroughly enjoyed BEP’s performance!
Daniel – Who?
tekkaus – No, as sardine as it may have looked, there are many spacious area to hang out, like we did.
Adrian – The main stars will ALWAYS appear in the end, even the organizers know that as Rule number 1.
i got in so early that by the time the peas came on, my legs were aching like crazy! only consolation is that i was right up near the stage and was able to paparazzi some almost decent photos without the rela people seeing.
i think going for a proper BEP and BEP ONLY concert would be a fantastic experience. one that i will certainly be looking forward to in the future.
I agree that Guinness is so much classier than your average beer! To Arthur!
Thanks for dropping by my blog by the way. Love the very clean layout here.
You must have had a great time there! I heard that Fergie’s voice was pretty shaky – was that true?
hee. my friend sneak in with an dslr. =)
philters – BEP are a class act.
Crys – Oh yes, beer’s nasty.
foongpc – Yeah, apparently so, but I was too drunk and having a good time to realize!
tzia – Nice!
