Lifehouse – Storm (“Who We Are” Review)
Just heard Lifehouse’s new album. I was in love with their previous album, which yielded hits like “You & Me”, “Blind”, not forgetting older tunes like “Everything” & “Hanging By a Moment”.

Their first single off the album, “First Time”, is a pretty moderate track, and you’ll be bored faster than Timberlake changes his women. From the album, 4 tracks jumped out.
The first track, “Disarray”, is a good curtain-raiser for the album, that leaves you kinda pumped up, and it sets the theme for the rest of the songs – upbeat. The title track, “Who We Are” sounded like a filler-song though almost catchy. Then comes “Broken”, which could be a hit, but not as defining as “You & Me”.
“Storm”, to me, is the BEST track on the album, it’s the closing song, which finishes the album with aplomb. Wade’s haunting vocals carries the first minute of the song without ANY instrument backup. As Will Ferrell would say, “it’s mindbottling”.
Unfortunately, the other songs sounds like one full record, it’s a kind of album where you feel that the pause between songs is pointless, because most of it sound the same, and you’ll start to ponder whether you’re stuck in full Groundhog Day mode.
The album gets a 5/10 on the Gallivanter Scale.
Lifehouse – Storm
How long have I been in this storm?
So overwhelmed by the oceans shapeless form
The water’s getting harder to tread
With these waves crashing over my head
If I could just see you everything would be alright
If I could see you this darkness would turn into light
And I will walk on water, and you will catch me if I fall
And I will get lost into your eyes
And everything will be alright, and everything will be alright
I know you didn’t bring me out here to drown
So why am I ten feet under and upside down
Barely surviving has become my purpose
Cause I’m so used to living underneath the surface

i was confused… I was wrong,i was confusing firehouse with lifehouse xD
i never heard songs from this band, but now i im interesed in that…
And then, maybe,i listen something about them…
Now im hearing new jersey…
In a some kind of evaluation,it reveled me that new jersey is my cd… =P
I remember their first album – loved Hanging by the Moment too!
Tincho: Is your New Jersey the Bon Jovi one?
tincho sambora Firehouse? It’s been a while since they released anything decent.
This band though, the singer has a mesmerizing voice. “New Jersey” is a classic – I was listening to that in my car, “Blood on Blood”, “99 in the Shade”, “Born to be my Baby”…
Giddy Tiger That was a good song, but the highlight for them was of course, “You & Me”.
Never really tried to explore LifeHouse. I played the song ‘You and Me’ on a guitar but that’s about it.
Kay Kastum Well, the lead singer does have a good voice, and their previous album was really good.
err…Storm is an old song..it wasn’t officially released but it’s there in Diff’s Lucky Day album
Hart Khor That was before Lifehouse became Lifehouse? Well, on this album, it’s the only memorable song unfortunately. Thanks for the info.
Gallivanter: ITA with you about “Storm”. I haven’t heard the whole CD yet but Storm is hauntingly memorable.
Bebe It’s the best song on the album. Don’t buy it though, not recommended.
At first i almost dislike the album, because i expected better from them. As soon as i heard the whole thing, i eject it from the player and put it away in the cd book in my vehicle. Later on, i put it back in the player, and gave it a chance. What caught me the second time was the lyrics, and melodies. It never has bored me, the only reason why i had put it aways was because it didn’t have the Stanley Climbfall sound that i personally love. Broken speaks what i feel in my heart, and Jason captured it perfectly without even knowing i exist. Every song has something so special and unique. “The Joke” is the only song that doesn’t interest me, because i enjoy their more meditative music, but i will give it more of a try. It’s Lifehouse, and Jason Wade is a real poet. He captures realit in every song.
