Matt Dunn – Ex-Girlfriends United
[ad]
I enjoyed reading this book, except the ending which is somewhat disappointing given its promise. I found it rather amusing, and I love British humor, and there were loads in the beginning portions of the book. It’s a story of a womanizer named Dan Davis not getting any love from the ladies, and then stumbles upon a website called slateyourdate.com, where women rant about their experiences with men, and Dan is right on top of that list in Brighton with 47!
He tries to track all of his ex bonkees to apologize and put things right, but then along the way, his best friend, Ed, tries to convince that Polly was the one for him, because ever since the breakup, he’s been on a physical rampage as opposed to emotional solace. There is a roll reversal towards the end, where Ed himself is faced with the appearance of his ex-GF of 10 years suddenly showing up and wanting to get together again.
Ed went to meet her, to find out why she left him all of a suddent, but this does not go down well with his current girlfriend Sam. In a nutshell, it’s pretty much a typical communication meltdown between men and women. This book gives you some insight, that neither sexes are wrong nor right in Ed’s case.
I’d give this book a 7/10, no thanks to the ending.
