Modern Family (TV Series) Review
I have to thank my boss Julian who introduced me to this series. He spoke about it while we were having a departmental lunch. I asked him more about it and he said, “If you like Arrested Development, you’ll love this even more.” I remember enjoying watching “Arrested Development”, so I thought what the heck.
Mel & I loved the show. It has all the cliche of a modern family – a dad who marries a younger foreign hot wife, a typical family whose 3 children are the examples of nerdy, beauty without brains and a dumb son. Then there’s the gay couple who adopts a foreign son ala Angelina Jolie.
My favorite character, funny enough, because I am homophobic to an extent, is the fat gay dude whose hilarious. I have to also specially mention the dad in the movie, another quirky character, but never fails to make you laugh as well.
The jokes are very dry but very effective. It may not go down too well with some people because there’s no laughter background like your usual sitcoms – situational comedies. It’s a mockumentary, similarly shot in the style of “The Office” in terms of interviews.
I am looking forward to Season 2 already!
GALLIVANTER’S VERDICT: 8/10
