Group of Death’s Curtain Call

“What drama in Kaiserslautern!”. The now infamous quote by the WC commentator echoes in my ear. It’s been dramatic alright. A thoroughly gratifying World Cup, with no major surprises (except for England’s qualification into the last 16! Hahaha!). Here are the next game previews: 

Czech vs Italy

All teams in Group E have a chance of progressing to the next round. It’s gonna come down to the wire, and I hope Italy are kayoed because of what De Rossi did to McBride, but I don’t think that’ll happen. With Czech looking severely exhausted in the striking department, it’s gonna be laborious for them. I’m pretty sure that Italy would want to win this game, simply because they wanna avoid playing against Brazil in the next round. Though they have a few players on yellow card, I think they will take the game to the Czechs. Prediction: Italy  

Ghana vs USA
Well, it’s a toss up really. Which US team will show up for this game? Monolithical permutations await footballing experts. If Ghana wins, they’re through to the last 16. If draw, they can still advance IF Italy beats Czech. Both of Ghana’s ONLY goalscorers are suspended for this match. Prediction: Ghana or Draw

Japan vs Brazil

Japan vs Brazil
Brazil has flunked to impress so far in their first 2 games. Ronaldo McDonaldo has a waist the size of the equator. They’ll be banking on Kakakaka to score the goals. Robinho and Juninho may get their chance to impress. Japan, probably the most gimpy side I’ve witnessed in recent times, a clobbering awaits them. Prediction: Brazil

Croatia vs Australia
For the Aussies, win and they are through. DRAW, and they’ll still go through provided that Brazil do not lose (Yeah right!). Croats need to win and hope that Brazil beat Japan to have any chance of progressing. It’s all to play for. On paper, Croatia should nick this, but I feel it could be a draw. The Aussies have 7 players in their squad with Croatian background. Players like Viduka and Bresciano. Prediction: Draw or Croatia
