Lookout Point Restaurant, KL’s City View

Well, I’m not gonna divulge into the nitty gritty details so much since Cely has already blogged about it. Think of this entry as a supplement from a male’s perspective, a male who thoroughly savored Casino Royale unlike some pansies who found it too ballsy for their liking.
I was scouring the Malaysian blogosphere and stumbled upon Rojaks’ review of this joint. I’m never a fan of blogs that regularly post photographs of food. What’s the frigging point?
We immediately left my office (in my car) from Menara Merais PJ to go on a hunting odyssey for this spot – Menara Tinjau. It sound vulgar I know, and the food confirmed it was! We arrived after 9pm, via Lake Gardens, past Zouk, a snarl-up in Jalan Ampang, and then took the MRR2, until we arrived at the left turn to Pandan Indah.
And then, Cely started to read the instructions; it said Esso on the left, to which I immediately retorted, “Yes, I know there’s an asshole on my left, but what does the instructions say?”. It took them a while to process the joke, and next thing you know, everyone cackled like hyaenas. Steve Irwin would’ve been proud. Sorry Alvin, wrong place wrong time I guess.
The view was energetically breathtaking. A perfect place for couples to get jiggy with it. LOL. The place was divided up in 2, one side was blaring techno music and the other (the one we opted), was playing schmaltzy ballads.
I sampled the Teh Tarik Dangdut (RM3), and after a sip, I felt like doing some dangdut myself, but the bewildered look on the others implied that I’d better sit my ass down else one may witness a flying botak Superman.
The view: 10/10. The food: 2/10
Look Out Point Restaurant and Cafe, Kompleks Pelancongan Menara Tinjau.
[ad]
1.Exit the MRR2 at Pandan Indah Interchange.
2.Go straight until the T-Junction. (Esso will be on your left as you come up to the T-Junction). Turn right at the traffic light.
3.Take a left immediately at the next traffic light.
4.Take another left at the traffic light beside Puteri Plaza.
5.Turn right at the traffic light junction to Ulu Langat/Kajang. (Please take note, you might miss this turning).
6.From this traffic light go on the winding road for about 3 km.
7.Look out for the sign board Menara Tinjau on the right.
8.Will come across a food court on the right with carpark. Turn in and drive up the hill to the LookOut Point Restaurant. (Be careful of the initial hump at the entrance, might graze the undercarriage if your vehicle is loaded with humans).

Nice place really, but the food is seriously bad. I dont know how other blogs can say its nice.
well ill rate the view 8 horns if the restaurant just served alcohol…(beer, wine, liquore) perfect view for a romance with an angel…then i’d rate it with my 10 horns plus a tail…about the food well hell who cares when you got a date with an angel yah
the BOY BAND pose was KILLING !!! hahaha
hongkiat Tell me about it. Maybe other bloggers have tasteless sense buds?
Lucifer Evil is upon us. Yes, it would’ve been better if it served alcohol.
Thank for dropping by oh horny one.
cely Did you scroll over the photo to see the caption I wrote? LOL
Aiks, seems like can’t go for FOOD and not even DRINKS eh?
So what to do up there? Cam whoring ar?
the view is really a killa rite? food wise i think its a personal prefs la …
meekiee Well, I guess you could eat bread and butter (it’s on the menu). LOL! We weren’t camwhoring, those are for narcist bloggers (we have a few now, don’t we?).
wingz Dunno man, all 5 of us disliked it, so that had to count for something. The view was indeed aesthetic!
personal prefs is when you are comparing 2 good things. one like this and the other like that, then this is personal preference.
but if one likes to eat steak and the other like to eat SHIT, can we say eating shit is his personal pref?
hongkiat Maybe wingz like his meat incinerated..
sweet!
been there.. nice place, it offers great view on most of KL BUT food is lousy…
Lex Indeed!
drama diva Tell me about it. Finally, someone who agrees about the deplorable food.

I tried that 3 restaurants over there. Worth to dine in the middle restaurant. It called Bread and Olives cafe. Here is the boss’s contact number: 013-2506119. We held a birthday party there in September, I love their unique Middle East food~
Yeah!… went to the Bread and Olive cafe too. Just wondering why it that cafe have less customer compare to the other cafe when the food is better and the scene is perfect. Oh make sure sit downstair for a superb kl view too. That time, have the pizza ( heard from fren, pizza delicious) and milk chocolate.
Next time will go again for their other pizza.
With a breathtaking view like that who cares about the food although if it was palatable that would be the icing on the cake if you pardon the pun
Christine Great view, makes up for the pathetic food.
Thank u for the direction!
once its about the food plus a breathtaking view…
well, its diffrently the Bread and Olives..
its such a great restaurant..however there is two other rest. around but it has that location in the middle of the view and also serves the best food ever…

Menara Tinjau, Jalan Ampang Hulu Langat,
68000 Ampang, K.L
ALI There are 3 restaurants there now? Hmm, I might give the other 2 a go then. I know the one on the right (as you come in) sucks bigtime!
I went there for New Year Eve, sadly it was a rainy night but all in all, the view was spetacular.
I agree with Yuk Ching, Bread and Olives was definitely the better food restaurant there. The food at the western restaurant kinda sucks and man, the manager attitude there is definitely rude, they have a if you want to eat here you have to take my attitude kinda thing.
Anyway, I do recommend the place.
my friends and i planned to go to have our end year dinner there but they collect RM50 per person..soundz like worthless…50 ringgit for a dinner…perghhhh
1.Exit the MRR2 at Pandan Indah Interchange.
Say im coming from Jalan Ampang – KLCC on my right, Avenue K on my left.. then I drive straight up heading towards Ampang Point.. right ?
Then where do I see the MRR2 exit to Pandan Indah ?
Where do I enter the MRR2 ?
d Turn right at Ampang Point, i.e. into Kesas Highway, then head off at Pandan Indah interchange
can i have the map to get there plsssss
I’m new to KL .. but i wanna have a try at this restaurant …. can u pls teach me how to go ? I will go from University of malaya because i staying there.
here is the location map…
I am new in KL and wanted to visit the place.
Which is the nearest LRT to the resturant? from there if take taxi to the restaurant roughly how much is fare trip? anyone know?
Attiya Nordin – Just follow the directions above. It’s pretty easy.
Lost – See the directions.
phieyw – I think the LRT in Pandan Indah. The problem of taking taxi over there, is that, you will not be able to get a taxi back. Not a good idea. Suggest to carpool.
boss, do you have location map to point restouran….
seremban pppl la….
not familier with kl
mk – I wish I do, but I don’t. Have you tried Google Map?
Just Drop By…
Nice blog you have!!
DSvT – Cheers!
Am going there tonight with two friends, both don’t know how to go there. Hope we’ll find this place — smashing view there, although we’ve been warned about the food. XD
Thanks for the detailed description on direction!
Doria – Cool. Enjoy!
I am very disappointed by the service given to me & my family at Bread & Olives Cafe. I arrived at 8.15pm on 31 Dec 2009 & was shocked to find out that B&O Cafe had imposed a mandatory Set Meal which cost RM80++ per person. Not only do I find that insulting, but how can you force people to order something that they rea…lly do not want. What was worse was that the usual menu was not available & that if you wanted an ala carte meal you had to wait till 11.30pm!! As a customer, I find that Bread & Olives not only violated every rule in the restaurant business, but the waiters were rude, (and I quote the waiter saying,”I have your order in my pocket’) well guess what? The order never came! Our drinks were never served, the reason being, oh we ran out of glasses. After 4 agonizing hours, we left with nothing but a bitter experience…I will let everyone I know how ‘great’ Bread & Olives Cafe’ is…
Germasia – Yeah, I can imagine because of the number of visitors there, these fellas get so greedy that everything else is secondary to MONEY.
