Akon Live in Malaysia 2009 @ Sunway Lagoon

Hmm, after the cancellation of Peter Cetera and Rihanna concerts earlier in the year, I’m unsure if this is for real, but I have a friend who works with the Malay Mail saying that it is true. 8pm 2nd July 2009 @ Sunway Lagoon Beach for the Freedom Beach Concert.
Tickets are priced at RM88 (BEACH ZONE), RM138(ROCK ZONE) and the Pitt RM188(THE PITT) (all free standing). In conjunction with this concert, Marctensia will be holding a week-long exclusive early-bird nationwide sale from 1st June to 7th June for fans to enjoy 15% off discount.
I have a love-hate thing going on with Akon. Here is my song list for the bugger should this concert take place including average but endurable tunes, in no particular order.

Hmmm, on second thoughts, I think I’ll skip this since virtually all of the songs on the playlist above are collaborations. Bottomline, Akon on his own, is a stinker. He has that voice that can be really annoying, but when he joins forces with other artists, it strikes a perfect equilibrium.
What’s your favorite and most hated Akon songs?
I have 3 favorites – Day Dreaming, Hold My Hand and Just Go. I have 3 scorned songs – Smack That, I Wanna Love You & Right Now (Na Na Na)
lol! And I was just contemplating to write a post on how much I hate Akon. Now that he’s coming down, I really must!
Akon reminds me of whinning weasel… His voice… I dunno why
that’s what people are looking for….the uniqueness of the voice….when they hear your songs….they know it’s you….
i like quite a number of akon’s songs….the melodies are so catchy…..and some melodies are just irritating….hehe
Actually Akon is rather good live. I am not a fan, because his songs can get so annoying, but I saw him when he last came to KL (free tics) and I was pretty impressed.

I’m guessing the concert was postponed also to mark respect to MJ. He couldn’t say that for fear of being sued by organizers.

I like Beautiful, Freedom, Keep You Much Longer and Belly Dancer. I totally dislike I Wanna F* You. He’s whiny, but not as teruk as Rihanna I think. And kinda refreshing to hear a Black guy singing pop songs (Not too hip hop or R&B)
Oh yes, how can I forget Dangerussss… catchy tune.
I hope he doesn’t change his mind this time around..
