Mini Bloggers Rendezvous @ Laundry Curve 13th Dec 2008

Mini Bloggers Rendezvous

It should’ve been termed as a Mini Sabahan Bloggers Rendezvous instead. It was wonderful to see all the familiar bloggers in addition to some new faces. Mel & I arrived at Laundry at 6:30pm to ensure that our reservation is ON.

The next blogger to arrive was Sheela, who made me feel prehistorical thanks to the age gap. I’m sure come next year, my face would be up in some cyber museum.

Next to the scene were Mimi and her hubby, followed by Andrew & Szelin and their friend, Atrica. It wasn’t long before Elstitty got in. We chatted until the next batch of cavalry arrive in the form of Carol & Alvin. Yes, can you see the Sabahan influence? OLE! :-)

Kay & Cindy appeared a little later, and we rambled until the wee hours of 2am in the morning. Kay wore the famous “BBKK” t-shirt, and the guy that creates them, Andy of Gurangak, joined us afterwards with Alvin, Leo  & few other aspiring bloggers.

It was an informal puckering, catching up on time and making new acquaintanceships. The bill ran up to RM840 shortly before midnight that must have somehow pleased the folks at Laundry.

We were scheming about trying to get Sabah to leave Malaysia (well, mostly the idea came from me because of the current Govt’s screwups), only for Alvin to mention that if that happens, the Philippines (or “affectionately” known as Persatuan Pilaks) would then seize the state. Bugger, the less of 2 evils conundrum!

Gallivanter & Kadazanbonita

I love this kind of rendezvous, were formalities are dismantled, sharing more than just conventional yakkity yak. It wasn’t long before I accompanied Kay to the cigar shop to get us a some cigars.

One thing that most of us agreed was that no matter how cool a Nissan Fairlady may look, it’s name is just too gay for a straight dude to own. I’m sure if you buy that car, it’ll come with a pink umbrella and free mascara. WTF was Nissan thinking?

Overall, it was yet another unforgettable evening, having been blessed with the presence of smashing people, a testament that bloggers know how to have a good time, especially Sabahans! Until the next meeting, it’s Gallivanter signing off!
