15 Simple Tips of Living Healthier

I’m gonna go straight to the points.

1. Drink more water, as our body is made up of water, over 60% of it. At least over 2 litres daily. To know if you’re drinking enough, look at your pee, if it’s colorless, or slightly yellow, you’re good.

2. Get enough sleep. If you lack rest, you eat more and usually it’s junk.

3. Exercise. Increase your daily activities that require you to move.

4. Eat fruits and vegetables. Forget the synthetic pills as supplements. Recommended fruits – watermelon, apple, guava, papaya, strawberries. Recommended vegetables – any beans, sprouts, asparagus, carrots.

5. Reduced processed food. If the food is not in its raw natural state, stay away from it.

6. Remove negative people. Get rid of them, flush them down the toilet like the toxic they are.

7. Avoid trigger foods. Mine’s chocolate and it causes sugar imbalance. I try to remove them from my diet, or at least find a healthier alternative like dark chocolate as opposed to milk chocolates.

8. Have small meals over the day instead of 3 big meals to balance out your energy distribution. So, eat when you’re hungry, but in very small portions.

9. Brown carbs. Stay away from white carbs like white rice, white bread, noodles and just about anything with white flour. Opt for brown rice, whole grain, oats, nuts.

10. No to oily food, and that includes fastfood, chips, basically anything that’s deep fried. To give you an idea, 1 tablespoon of oil is equivalent to 120 calories, easily 10% of your daily calories intake. Grilled, steamed, or stir fried, using olive oil instead.

11. No soda and caffeine. While caffeine helps to pump your heart, indirectly helping to burn weight, it speeds up the rate of urine production and will impact your internal body processes. Instead, opt for water or FRESH fruit juice whenever you get the chance.

12. Try to say no. When you’re out with friends, learn to say no when people offer you food. You’re not hungry, just visually stimulated by it. To know if you’re hungry or otherwise, imagine a large juicy steak, if your mouth waters and you believe you can finish one easily, that’s a sign of hunger.

13. Salads. Have it more often as you can, at least 3 to 5 times a week.

14. Low calorie and low fat. When you buy milk products, yoghurts, ice cream, look out for the lower alternatives.

15. Stop smoking. It’s detrimental to your health. Proven. Avoid passive smoking either, if you know a friend who smokes, and when he/she lights up, tell them to smoke somewhere else.
