Chris Cornell – Scream
[ad]
Even Chris Cornell has caught the Timbaland fever! I was surprisingly pleased with the combination of the two of them. Though, I think it would’ve been a super song for a NEW artist like David Cook instead of someone who is as seasoned as Chris Cornell. From Soundgarden to Audioslave to going solo. I loved Cornell’s work on the previous James Bond soundtrack, and that rock version of MJ’s Billie Jean.
His next album is due in November, and this track is the first tune off the album, which only took six weeks between Chris Cornell and Timbaland to complete. Who would’ve thought Chris Cornell moving into R&B. However, it has some psychedelic elements and I’m sure that’s how the album will turn out to be.
I have to admit though, thanks or no thanks to Timbaland, this song will grow on you.
I say hey, why you keep screaming at the top of your head?

Hmmm… that’s interesting, though I’m pretty sure his true rock fans will be somewhat disappointed with this development.
Terra – That is true. Some will be disappointed and some will love it. That’s how the world evolves.
Can’t wait to hear this album in November. Great combination. Cornell has an amazing voice and good on him for taking a few risks and working with a pop genius. I love what i have heard to date. Really catchy and interesting songs. Bring it on!
I love it! I absolutely love it! I think it’s a good change and he sounds absolutely brilliant. Oh, that voice!!!!!!
Stew (Tas) – Coolness. I’m looking forward too.
Rozella – Yes, he has THAT voice, unlike Axl Rose of Guns N Roses, the worst voice in music business!
i never thought this grungy dude will do this kind of music. I like this. More mature in melody arrangement. Sames like Rob Thomas… for what we still wanna scream in our own project when we can do it in our own band rite?
gonna buy the cd….
motley crue in singapore next week
Aj – Yeah, I’m curious about Cornell’s new album too, and yeah, I heard about Motley Crue, and only know a handful of songs. I kinda like “Saints of Los Angeles” off their new album this year.
love this, could listen to this over and over.
Tracey Bower – Indeed!
I love this song! I can listen to it over and over.
Chris’ voice sounds amazing on this track. When does his voice not sound amazing. lol
I was surprised when I heard Timbaland was producing Chris’ new album. Now I’m pleasantly surprise how much I like it. I’ve also listened to the hidden track “Two Drink Minimum”. I’m lovin it!!!
BTW – “Scream” sounds great live. I was lucky enough to hear Chris perform it on the Projekt Revolution tour in Wisconsin a couple months ago. Chris also performed “Watch Out”. Can’t wait to pick up this album and to catch his tour when he comes the Midwest.
esther – Yeah, Timbaland’s a surprise package for Cornell. It should be an interesting album.
