Linkin Park – Leave Out All the Rest
Thanks to Larawannabe, I had the privilege to suss out Linkin Park’s latest album, which is a letdown, considering how noisy they were in the past. It sounds like a Fort Minor-influence record, which didn’t go down too well. If I had to choose the best song from the album, it’s this one. Otherwise, skip the album.

Linkin Park – Leave Out All the Rest
I dreamed I was missing you were so scared
But no one would listen cause no one else cared
After my dreaming I woke with this fear
What am I leaving when I’m done here
So if you’re asking me I want you to know
When my time comes forget the wrong that I’ve done
Help me leave behind some reasons to be missed
And don’t resent me and when you’re feeling empty
Keep me in your memory leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
Don’t be afraid
I’ve taking my beating I’ve shared what I’ve been
I’m strong on the surface not all the way through
I’ve never been perfect but neither have you
So if you’re asking me I want you to know
Forgetting all the hurt inside
You’ve learned to hide so well
Pretending someone else can come and save me from myself
I can’t be who you are

i think they are at their creative best in hybrid theory..
hey this is my favourite as well!
and like I’ve said before, I like Fort Minor.
Jaxon S Probably.
nyx Fort Minor is alright by me (I was at their concert), but this is Linkin Park.
I actually like this album. It’s less angry but it’s got a lot more sense to it as well. Lot’s of good songs to be loved here too.
My favourite would have to be Hands Held High. What a great way to protest the Iraq War.
Yup, we have the same taste. Half the songs in this album are such a letdown considering how good Hybrid Theory and Meteora were.
Notable songs on this album (for me): Leave Out All The rest, What I’ve Done, In Between, In Pieces and to an extent Shadow Of The Day. What the hell were they thinking when they came up with Valentine’s Day?!
I liked some of their songs (to the amazement of my former students who with wide eyes exclaimed, “What you like CRAWLING?!!)
Don’t know about Fort Minor songs though and this song doesn’t sound very Linkin Park-ish too.
how apt. leave out all the rest except this song. get it? LOL!
come on, now. hybrid theory was released 7 years ago. surely they need to progress a bit. if they do the same thing, they’ll be deemed as ‘takde idea’ pula.
i’ve heard this album repeatedly since, it’s growing on me. the music has the LP brand on it in terms of quality. i can now say i love every song in this album even the emo valentine’s day (which is actually a very sad song).
Edrei Well, I don’t know about that, nothing stands out at all.
Din I’ve not idea if this is called progress…
Jewelle I’m not a fan of “Crawling”, my favorite is “Points of Authority”.
Fort Minor is a side project by that rapper-wannabe dude in Linkin Park.
Larawannabe Maybe I would’ve accepted it if it was released as a Fort Minor album instead..
this album wasnt all as great as the other ones
hybrid theory was the best and they couldve done without reanimation
meteora was good but not as good as hybrid
the only thing that sucks about the new album is the rapping that mike does in some of the songs
when chester sings its great especially in what ive done and leave out all the rest
but anyways i still love the band and the new cd
inuyasha789 Well, said, at least you’re truthful enough, though you love the band. Kudos to ya!
thanks Gallivanter.im not tryin to dis the band but they could do without the rap. meteora was a great cd except number 11 (Nobody’s Listening). comparing all of their other songs to that one and all of the rap on the new one…..the first couple were way better; and i love My December.
its their best song from the old cd’s except for Lyin’ From You.Lyin’ From You expresses how i feel and i cant get over it :p
and their songs have awesome beats too
inuyasha789 Of course. I heard the new album and didn’t like their direction either. Old albums were fine.
Gallivanter : i know doing the same thing can get old but they should chose a different type of rock if they change at all and Mike doesnt need to quit LP and go with Fort Minor.he makes them good cuz he tosses in some sort of (for lack of a better term) flavor.
he makes up the part that doesnt seem like them. it sounds kinda weird but i cant word it differently lol
inuyasha789 No, it’s not about doing the same thing, it’s about trying something new while staying close to their roots. I don’t really like Shinoda’s style of rapping – give rappers a bad name.
Gallivanter : well, the new cd isnt all that close to their roots and shinoda does give rap a bad name.i agree with u on that but they have taken a pretty big leap away from their roots
i love lp and always will but i really dont think yhis is 1 of their best albums..leave out all the rest is my fav song from this album …LP you guys rock..you need to b heavier in the next album.
C’mon guys. I think Minutes to Midnight is the proof that LP now looking for something now in their music. I have all of their album; Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, Meteora, Live In Texas and Collision Course. I know that LP want to change their style in making music. It’s not ridiculous how this album is produced, i think it’s quite good. i give 9.5 out of 10 for this album. this album is more moody and best for the listener. listen for leave out all the rest, their best song in this album. i listen for this song about 30 times a day. this is the most melodic song ever LP made. It’s lyrics is really touching my soul…
i used to like LP
they arent bad, besides, they mature a lot… You can see that in a song like what i´ve done…
Whatever it is, it’s still a mediocre album.
