Alleged Malay-Bashing Complaint Letter
[ad]
First of all, I think this is bullshit! I believe this was created by either “enemies” of this couple who runs an auction business or some politician (most likely in UMNO) trying to divert the issues faced by this dodgy party by creating a fake letter to stir racial hatred.
It’s stupid to think that this couple actually complain and then go on to tell their plans of leaving Malaysia. Sorry to the wanker to wrote this anger inciting letter, but no person with a sane mind would be stupid enough to do so!

Now, let’s break up the letter a little to see how it took a massive swipe at the Malays. The more I read it, the more I believe this is a fucking inside job – either by their competitors or someone from politics.

Hmm, that’s not entirely true – a few Malays I know are bloody hardworking and this generalization is tad unfair. No way this would’ve come from an sound person because of the statement. Looks like from a school dropout that thinks he can incite anger.

Ouch. That was painful. But unfortunately, facts do not lie on the part of incest. Just like how people perceive Indians to be gangsters & criminals while Chinese to be Ah Longs.

Another ouch. I will bite my tongue from commenting on this! To be fair, it’s generalization again but isn’t that how we Asians are? A bunch of generalizing pricks?

I cut a few words because it attacks the religion and I strongly disagree on that. It’s so obvious that this writer wants to incite anger but there is so many angles in the full letter that shows it’s a BLOODY FAKE! The writer was smart as to manipulate some “facts” to authenticate the content.
To the person who wrote this letter, fuck off and get a life you twat! I’m still clutching on straws that one day, Malaysians would finally be fucking mature enough to drop all the race bollocks and adopt REAL democracy for once – see Canada for example!

Im strongly disagree that!!!.. I’m taking Malay phrases ‘kerana seekor nyamuk..satu kelambu dibakar’ or ‘seekor kerbau membawa lumpur..semua pun terpalit’ or ‘kerana nila setitik satu belanga rosak’… dont fully blame the Malay people..dont lengthen the issues la… the statement made by the couple are too harsh..not just to the Malay but also to all races and leads to religions matter..a ‘good follower’ of any religion wouldnt talk like that..

Racism, never ending. Anyways, majority makes minority look bad. “nuff said, overall it’s human behavior, they tend to complain and make small matter big. @_@”"”
i still think the letter is funny, crazy and betul betul tak masuk akal…LOL!! I had fun reading it though…good laugh
No Malaysian in their right mind would write such a letter… it’s so obvious, like you said. Besides, the enemy are the policy makers and not the people.
Anyway, where was this from?
Sorry I have to keep my identity anonymous.. about to tell my life experiences here. I think we Malaysians are good people but believe too strongly about our culture and our background. I read your other post and not only “most” Malays think that they are entitled to receive government benefits. Remember, there are Bumiputra Sabah and Sarawak. They may not say anything publicly but I bet you some (I don’t want to generalize…), especially the older generations, think that only Bumiputra should receive government benefits. I think because our ancestors wrote some racist law back in the 1950′s. Until somebody change it, the government doesn’t care about you if you are other than Bumiputra. That’s why Chinese who are married to Kadazan in Sabah put Sino Kadazan in their children’s birth certs. So don’t just blame the Malays, it’s the whole Malaysian bumiputra’s mentality but I guess Malays are the loudest in this issue. I am a Malay and I realized how racist my country is when I was 20. I was in college in the US. I come here on scholarship but I also do have other Malay friends who come here on parents funds. Anyway, I didn’t understand why Chinese and Indian children did not get selected to go to U based on their academic achievement and their parents financial status. Because that is the most fairest way rather than awarding scholarship to children based on race. It is very wrong but they just do not see it. I don’t understand it. My sister now cannot have scholarship because my parents are able to afford her education financially. I think that the same system should be applied to other races. Do it based on other than a person’s race!
I would like to share with you a story of my life. I was in college just came to the States in 1996. I was attending one of those Malaysian Association AGM where they selected the board members. So we were voting on who to be the president. They were Chinese, Malay and Indian students of course. And while they were selecting people for the president, the Malay person next to me said, “Angkat lah tangan… nanti orang Cina jadi president dan board members, takde Melayu”. Oh my GOD, we are in fucking America okay.. and you still want to be racist?!?! That’s it
I can’t believe she would say that but oh well, that was more than 10 years ago but the racism still exist. I think the only way to change the law is by having someone like you to step up to the politic system but wait until the older people in the political system go away because I think most newer Malay generations agree that all races in Malaysia must be given equal rights. CHANGE THE LAW!
“Remember, there are Bumiputra Sabah and Sarawak. They may not say anything publicly but I bet you some (I don’t want to generalize…), especially the older generations, think that only Bumiputra should receive government benefits.”- Malay
Correction. Sabahan and Sarawakian have never-ever shout about these special privilages. In fact, these previlages didn’t really ‘happen’ in Sabah or Sarawak. I mean literally. And the older generation doesn’t even know that such privilages exist. I bet you doesn’t know much about Borneo. (I don’t want to generalize..but it’s a fact that West Malaysian know so little about us)
Don’t get me wrong, I agree with your points but (except) this particular point seems to denied all the wrong doing that have been done in Sabah by the West Malaysian which ironically are Malays.
As if we were involved in making such policies. Malaysia wasn’t even born when this ‘privilages’ were made by ‘your’ ancestor.
P/s: to the tuan blog..sori bos..
Alv0808 – Wow, you’re so angry that you have to say it twice! LOL! Like I said, I doubt this statement came from the couple – I think there’s a sinister plot behind it. I just hope that the Malay community don’t bite the bullet.
massy – True. Racism is everywhere – just that in some countries, it’s lesser than others. Canada for example is a country that we should look up to.
emelda – Yeah, a stupid and obviously made-up letter to incite hatred. I just hope the younger generation can see pass the crap!
TerraShield – Exacto mundo. I got this from a forward, by an Indian couple to some council in Langat.
Malay – Thanks for sharing. Anyway, this post is not about bumiputera, but the stupidity of some people and the level they would resort to incite anger. Do you know in Sabah and Sarawak, they are not bumiputera but seen as 2nd class bumiputera? But that’s a different story as it can get too complicated to explain. Bottomline – we need to change. This “1Malaysia” concept must start off by abolishing races and religion stereotyping – only then we can progress.
guong – Yeah, Sabah & Sarawak have been duped by West Malaysia as the bumiputera status does not bring any privileges except its name alone. I agree, West Malaysians know little about Sabah and I too have so much to learn – luckily my better half’s a Sabahan. Thanks for sharing your thoughts amigo. That’s the problem with us, we always generalize. I really do hope that one day Malaysia becomes equal for all races – no more marginalization. Cheers.
It must have taken the letter writer quite a bit a brain squeezing to come up with so many creative points to talk about.
I think the whole reason this whole race issue is being played up is because of fear – xenophobia in our supposedly “united” country.
I am a Sabahan by the way. Born and raised. Mixed Malay and Kadazan. Need I say more? I said “most” not “all” bumiputra Sabah and I said most of them are older generations. Thanks for letting me give me 2 cents in here.
Sorry Gallivanter, I know this post is not about bumiputra. My point was the law needs to be changed in Malaysia. I don’t care who you are, first class or second class bumiputra, Kadazan, Malay, Dusun, Bajau, Murut, Iban, Indian, Chinese, if you are a citizen you should be treated equally as other races. Race should not be an issue. Like I said, Malay shouts the loudest. But other bumi, silent also means agreeing to the racist law or maybe we all would just rather be ignorant. It is time to change. By the way I am a Sabahan, born and raised. Grandfather side is Dusun, grandmother side is Malay. I do know that we Sabahans are treated like we aren’t even part of Malaysia. I was treated like a foreigner when I first came to study in the west Malaysia because of my accent. But anyway that is a different story. Thanks Gallivanter for letting me comment. I do hope that one day Malaysia will change. God bless.
Ms/Mr Malay, You’re a Sabahan? Hmm..well, I’m sorry for misinterpreting your origin but still, I disagree with your point saying that the Older generation of Sabahan agree on such privileges by keeping silent. They don’t even know it exist. Just ask around. Even I myself the younger generation didn’t know anything about this privileges until umNo/BN took over the helm on Sabah.
So, it is just unfair putting Sabahan aboard in this ship of special privileges along with the Malay since we are just castaway.
Back to topic, will all these stereotype, prejudice, chauvinism, racism among Malaysian get a knock out? Yes. And it needs every Malaysian to sacrifice their ‘race interest’..
This is what I would call FASCISM at work. Some fellow conjures some
falseletter, somebody else “reacts” to it, and then somebody elsein the governmenttakes this as an excuse to “regulate” the blogosphere. Beware of such wolves in sheep’s clothing people. And nope, fascism ain’t limited to Hitler and Mussolini alone.
Guong,
Maybe living in different areas of Sabah made me think that older generations (people in their 50′s-60′s) think that way. People past the 60′s age, yes, they don’t even know what that means- heck my grandmother still has red IC and can’t even read/write (bukan pilak ah… lain negara tapi malas sia mau cakap apa). I’m not saying we think we deserve to have that privilege, but not saying anything back (silent) when we see “bumiputra” requirement on every form we fill in for loan/scholarship/contract is not right either. I don’t know maybe things have changed.. I do agree that in Sabah, we all can mix together, even in the government agencies, we see a lot of different races, bumi and non-bumi working together.
Perry – True, lots of folks worried about losing their “rights” to the country, but that’s such a backward thinking.
Malay – I agree on the need to reform the laws of the land. Today’s move by the PM is a good one. I kinda agree with Guong on the part that the bumi in East Malaysia are not aware of their rights and hence are treated as “second class bumi”. Only now that many are starting to realize and staking their claim – not against non-bumi, but the double-standards practiced by bumi in West Malaysia. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Good stuff.
guong – Agreed, you hit the nail on the head. The only way forward – is to abolish the NEP and bumi status – and make all races equal. It’s as simple as that if we want to move forward.
JL – Exactly. Some bloggers are already starting to fan the fires of racism by reacting to the above letter. It’s just pure ignorance on their part.
Malay – I agree – I love Sabah and the friendliness of the people – those are good foundations of a progressing country. But then again, it could just be the lack of technology and exposure to the world at large. Unfortunately, the more progress we make, the more likelihood people will realize their rights and start demanding.
im from Sarawak… and I think its just crap about all these privileges people are shouting about.
people highlight that bumiputeras in sabahan and sarawakians get privilege, but on the ground.. its just a totally different story. You dont see these privileges, and you dont feel it until you won an ASB book.
even better, the situation in sabah and sarawak is not the same in the peninsular. I find it annoying that people always mention that they are fighting for the rights of sabahan n sarawakian, and say that we ppl in sabah n sarawak care about all these rights which are highlighted in the media by certain groups, when in fact.. we care shit about it coz we don’t see the need to do so. We are happy that there is no one whom can claim they are the majority here in sarawak. we are happy that everyone tolerates well with each others religion in sarawak. in fact, if you come to the main town, you will see a church, a temple, and a mosque well placed within 1km of each other, and on sundays, you get to hear sunday mass on the local radio.. where can you find that? we are also happy that other religion, aside frm Islam, can bring their priest for prayer in school compounds without much trouble, and our mission schools can keep the cross as a symbol of the school. no one is complaining.
I feel that respect of others is well instilled in sarawak and sabah, and it hurts to see that some people are using the word ‘mempertahankan hak melayu dan bumiputera sabah dan sarawak’ just for their own needs. politics in sabah and sarawak is totally different. if sabah and sarawak was the same as the peninsular, you wont hear people saying “malaysia terdiri daripada semenanjung malaysia, sabah dan sarawak”..
Cyril Dason – I wholeheartedly agree with your comment. Brilliant stuff. Semenanjung bumiputeras are a bunch of numskulls.
