Enjoying Working Life

2 January 2000 – 31st October 2007.

A job – nothing but repetitive hard work. I parted ways with my company of 8 years earlier this month and I’m looking forward to a new career challenge. Over the last year, I had to slog to office, execute the hours and then hotfoot home to breathe again. I got too comfy for my own good.

Enjoying Working Life

One of the most evidently significant fact is to preserve good working relationships. You have NO choice. Don’t criticize, don’t take things personal and fend off gossipmongers at all cost. You may find it problematical to get along with certain people, like I did. I coerced myself to see the person’s positive adequacies.

Always take pride in what you do. It’ll leave you feeling fulfilled and gives you the determination to work. Otherwise, it will be unsurmountable for you to enjoy your work. PLEASE, DO NOT take your work home. It’s not school. Prioritize your tasks and leave it at work.

Lunch break – break loose from the office. A change of environment usually helps me to clear my mind and reload my batteries. There’s always the enticement to drift from work and waste time. Let’s face it, EVERYONE procrastinates, the only difference is, the time of procrastination. Take short time offs, 10 minutes per hour, to spend time doing something productive for yourself – learn a new language perhaps or read some knowledge enriching articles.

Remember – you’re not a robot.
