Food That Makes You Go Blech!
Yes, I’m sure all of us have some food which we do not like at all. Be it a dish, an ingredient or some condiments. Things that make you go ARRGHH! As you already know, I don’t eat pork, not because of religious reasons, but because my body rejected it since I was very young. Thus my disliking towards it. And reading what it consumes, it seems I made the right “choice”. Of course, I hate durians, “king” of fruit that smells like arse!
I hate onions and garlic, and spare parts of animals. I stick with the meat thanks very much. Apparently I take up my hatred for onions and garlic after my late dad. My mom used to smash the onions and garlics into smithereens before adding it into meals. Oddly enough, I’m okay with garlic bread.
What food makes you go BLECH? And don’t start with the mumbo jumbo that we need to appreciate food and all that jazz about Africa.

DURIANS..CHINESE SAUSAGE, ANY ANIMAL”S SPARE PART, the PAK CHAM KAI (WHITE CHICKEN)
tihtahpah Agree to all of ya choices, except for chicken sausage…though I prefer beef sausage anytime.
my list is too long…. hmmm but i will state that although i love durians… i totally hate durian flavoured ‘anything’(Ice-Cream, sweets, cake, cookies, etc)
Dan, we have more in common than we know. For years I too didn’t eat pork, for the same reasons as you. My entire family loved pork, but my late mum used to be kind enough not to cook when I ate at home. I only recently started eating bacon, bak kut teh and vindaloo at Mrs’ prompting – it tastes good, man…
I used to have the same issue with onions and garlic, but not any more after I found out how very good (and cheap) it is to get rid of bad cholesterol.
I don’t eat pork as well which is considered a sin in my family cos they’re all bak kut teh lovers…also Teluk Pulai is famous for it’s Bak Kut Teh!!! They have even christened me Salmiah!
Mo Actually my bad, durian should’ve even be considered food. Yuck!
Keropok Never ate pork, and I never will.
I do eat more onions and garlics whenever I have no choice. LOL.
sabrina Well, Salmiah, it’s alright, cause you’re certainly not alone on this one, you have Danial Abdullah.
I don’t like mutton. It has a nasty smell!
Wow… same choice lah bro.. I HATE ONIONS TO DEATH! IT SUCKS… and someone should start say NO to Durians campaign already now!
I used to hate green vegies but I’m ok with it now. Reason was because I can’t chew the green stalks. Have to spit out every time. Same goes with orange.
But I looooove durian, onion, garlic!
Sha You don’t? Well, I do, especially the dry curry style….mmmmm…can hardly wait for Easter!
Lex Say NO to Durians? Errr…I think I might be detained under the ISA Act 1960.
Che-Cheh I love my greens. Why don’t you concoct a Durian-Onion-Garlic junkfood? I’m sure it would sell.
DURIAN
i love that fruit…you can’t take it away its your national fruit
