RIP Milli Vanilli, Blame it on the Rain

Skat Kat sang, “People want to know if its meant to be silly, I say only when it’s done by Milli and Vanilli”. Yup, remember these 2 blokes? It was such a huge disappointment when they revealed that they didn’t sing the songs. With kick-ass hits like “Baby Don’t Forget My Number, “Girl You Know It’s True”, “Girl I’m Gonna Miss You”, God knows what Frank Farian (founder of Boney M) was thinking.

I guess that the REAL MILLI VANILLI lacked personality, hence these 2 clowns with funny pants were drafted in – Rob Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan (both dead). After winning a Grammy, these 2 impostors then actually WANTED to sing, and that’s when Farian pulled the plug.

Here’s a homage to that group, who took us all for a ride in 1990. I leave you with my favorite Milli Vanilli song. Sing it if you know it. ;-)

Milli Vanilli – Blame It On The Rain

You said you didn’t need her
You told her good-bye
You sacrificed a good love
To satisfy your pride
Now you wished
That you should had her
And you feel like such a tool
You let her walk away
Now it just don’t feel the same
Gotta blame it on something
Gotta blame it on something

Blame it on the rain that was fallin fallin
Blame it on the stars that did shine at night
Whatever you do don’t put the blame on you
Blame it on the rain yeah yeah
You can blame it on the rain

Should’ve told her you were sorry
Could have said you were wrong
But no you couldn’t do that
You had to prove you were strong
If you hadn’t been so blinded
She might still be there with you
You want her back again
But she just don’t feel the same
Gotta blame it on something
Gotta blame it on something
Gotta blame it on something

Come on and blame it on the rain
Coz the rain don’t mind
And the rain don’t care
You got to blame it on something
