My Vote on the Greatest Ever F1 Driver!

It’s easy. I can even make my vote in my dreams or coma and it’s still the same outcome. No, it’s not Alan Prost, nor Ayrton Senna, nor Mika Hakkinen nor any of those old farts in the past.
My vote goes to one driver and one driver only – Michael Schumacher. I would’ve placed my vote on Ayrton Senna if there was a second place voting. Schumacher is statistically the greatest F1 driver the sport has ever seen.
Read em and weep all you non-Schuey fans. If you cannot acknowledge this dude’s accomplishments, then you’re in a massive state of denial.
I’ve looked at the remaining matchups, and making a decision on my choices are fairly straightforward. After looking at the ESPN’s Website, the current votes are for a spot in the semi-finals. Prost vs Raikkonen = I chose Prost. Senna vs Schumacher = Schumacher hands down. Lauda vs Andretti = the voting’s not open yet and I couldn’t care less. Hakkinen vs Alonso = Hakkinen.
ESPNSTAR’S THE GREATEST EVER F1 DRIVER GAME
There is one matchup in the voting that I thought was a major mismatch – Alex Yoong vs Ayrton Senna. I know that ESPN probably meant well to have an Asian driver so the voters might be interested. Alex Yoong may have made Malaysians feel a little proud, but Ayrton Senna’s history in the race has made him a clear and logic victor in this matchup.
I would’ve preferred a Michael Schumacher vs Ayrton Senna “final” though.

The best drivers are the one that could turn their ordinary car into a fantastic car and Schumacher had proved it over and over again.
I’m not Schumacher fan, my wife is and she makes it a known fact to rib me about how great he is but then, I happen to also agree that he’s simply out of this world when it comes to F1 and I don’t see any other driver coming anywhere near yet. I think if you gave him my beat up old car to drive he still will bring it in first … hehehe …
I only know Schumacher all this time hehehehe..
Shumey is the only driver who really uses his brains when he his driving…what I mean is conservation of the race tyres and the car.
He knows how to make use of the car’s limitation on race day and make the best of it..he put Ferrari back to winning ways
I totally agree with you – Michael Schumacher is the greatest F1 driver and the best by far. I’m a fan – no wonder I only go to Shell to pump my petrol. LOL!

Even is Ayrton Senna lived long enough, he’d probably not win as many as Schumi. But at least Ayrton has charisma, agree?

When Michael Schumacher retired, I stopped watching F1 completely because it wasn’t as exciting anymore.

Jewelle – He’s boring? You sure? I disagree – Schuey has seen his fair share of controversial – many drivers are upset by his style of driving and complain all the time. Senna may be likeable, but would’ve lost to Schuey.
